Greg Olsen runs a 4.47 40-yard dash

Greg Olsen, after weighing in at 6'6" and 254 lbs, just ran an unofficial 4.47 40-yard dash at the combine. He is separating himself from the rest of the tight end competition and should be a first round lock and the first tight end off the board on draft day. Zach Miller, thought to be Olsen's main competition for the top TE spot, only managed a 4.84 40-yard time.

Miami's Greg Olsen going pro

University of Miami junior tight end Greg Olsen signed with agent Drew Rosenhaus and will make himself eligible for April's NFL draft.

Rosenhaus believes Olsen will be a first round pick.

''The information I'm getting is that he'll be a first-round pick,'' Rosenhaus said. "He's got rare ability -- great size and speed for the position. He's very athletic. We're confident he will be an impact rookie.''

It's more likely that Olsen will be a second round pick. Robert Davis rates him as his second best TE prospect.

UM's Beason and Olsen could declare

Linebacker Jon Beason and tight end Greg Olsen of the University of Miami could enter the NFL draft. Both juniors have left open the posibility of skipping their senior season. Beason is waiting to hear back from the NFL committee about his draft grade and will go pro if he's a first rounder. Olsen did not request an NFL draft grade, but could enter the draft anyways.

Beason is very unlikely to receive a first round grade and should return to Miami. Olsen is more likely to go pro and would be one of the top TEs in the draft if he declares.
