Jarrett drops off Kiper's big board

Mel Kiper's big board lists his top 25 prospects in the 2007 NFL draft. In his latest update Dwayne Jarrett is no longer listed. At one time Jarrett was listed 13th overall by Kiper.

Jarrett has seen his stock fall after skipping the combine and posting a 40 time over 4.6 during his Pro Day. It's possible that Jarrett could slip to the second round.

Jarrett is interesting, but what happened to Alan Branch the DT from Michigan who was a top 10 pick not long ago?

I think this is about time he has fell off Mel's big board. Since he has fallen off just about every other top 25. This is the real fall for Jarrett now he may even slip to the 2nd round probably not but there is a chance. To think he was the second reciver comming out of college and now he is just another big slow possesion reciver from USC.

I originaly was hopefull that Green Bay may get the chance to draft him but now that would be a big reach.

The 40 time a wonderous thing isn't it. Hope this is not just another time when everyone overates the 40 and forgets about just how good he was. Still proably a bust in my mind. I hate to draft players that fall before the draft, other than QB's they are allways wildcards so it doesn't really matter.

So basically I am just confused about what will happen with Jarrett but I would not take him.

Is Mel kiper ever right when it comes to the nfl drat? His big board has become a joke. Every during the nfl draft espn has a segment of clips where he is absolutely wrong when it comes down to what a team will pick. Yeah Jarrett's 40 time was not impressive during hte combine, but we are forgetting one thing he ain't a combine player he is a football "playmaker". Everyone knows what he can do on the field and according to me he is still one of the top 25 players in this year nfl draft.

Mike Mayock from NFL.com has him listed as 46th among players. Probably going to be like Chad Johnson, drafted in the second round and in a few years every one will question how he lasted that long.

Kiper always has good Big Boards and this is no exception jarret is around 30-40 on the top prospect list.

Where Mel goes wrong is his projections of where each player will go.

The 40 is the most highly rated part of the draft. people are forgetting that jerry rice didnt have the fastest 40 time. Jarret should be a top 20 pick no doubt. he single handedly beat Notre Dame and is the 2nd best WR in this draft.

yea, he pretty much torched Michigan in the Rose Bowl by himself as well. He beat Leon Hall and Morgan Trent deep several times. I think Hall ran somewhere in the 4.4's or 4.3's on his combine 40 yard dash.

In my opinion, you don't need to have blazing speed to be an effective wr., as long as you have moves that create seperation from the defender. Jarrett knows how to get open and catches the balls that are thrown his way. If i am looking for a receiver in the draft i would grab him in a heartbeat.

Jerry Rice, Michael Irvin, Cris Carter, and many other big name receivers posted slow 40 times. Kiper's an idiot who rarely ever gets his predictions right. Jarrett will probably prove alot of people wrong in the near future. What he was able to do on the field is undeniable!

As a cowboys fan i'm thrilled his stock is falling. If the idiot teams picking ahead of us would quit worrying about his 40 and look at what he does on the field they could see that leon hall (4.3 40) was no match for him at all in the rose bowl, nor any other corner in college. Calvin Johnson the one who caught 1 ball in a game. As far as i'm concerned Jarrett is right up there with Johnson. And didn't Jerry Rice have a slow 40. All he managed to do was be the best reciever in NFL history.
