Bucs and Browns to toss coin during the combine

Tampa Bay and Cleveland will toss a coin at the combine in two weeks to determine which owns the No. 3 overall pick in April.

The Bucs are said to be interested in Joe Thomas and Calvin Johnson. The Browns are interested in Joe Thomas, Adrian Peterson, and JaMarcus Russell.

Hey, seriously, I think that Calvin Johnson won't be available to either of the teams. I see the Raiders drafting Calvin Johnson IF they trade Randy Moss which will probably happen. I can see the Browns drafting Adrian Peterson. I think the bucs will draft a guy like Alan Branch. They're defence was tops a couple seasons ago but now they're not because they're getting old on defence. I still believe in Brady Quinn. I think that he's better than JaMarcus Russel. JaMarcus Russel is WAY overrated just because of the Sugar Bowl. So there you have it.

Lets look at this! Wherever the Bucs and Browns are, the Bucs are looking at WR whom is: Calvin Johnson and QB? JaMarcus Russell? He is a talent, I know that. They already resigned Chris Simms long term and can trade for a David Carr with a 4th rd pick. Russell will not go lower than: #1 and at most #2 because Lions if they had a chance they would jump at it or get calls like crazy for Russell. Remember when the Texans passed on Reggie Bush and drafted Mario Williams. The Saints got calls like crazy but just drafted Bush for themselves, the Lions can really add a lot of talent if Russell falls and I say? Calvin Johnson goes #1 due to the Randy Moss trade. Browns would likely draft Adrian Peterson at either #3 or #4 unless a trade happens. Joe Thomas can go anywhere from #2 to #5.

Russell is not overrated. I am a great LSu fan and watched every game this year. i actually wanted Matt Flynn to start at first. The SEC is what is ovverrated. If no one notices, LSU played top defenses all year. he even did well againt the Florida Gators. He does well and can show that he can pick apart top teams, Quinn though had trouble against many better teams. Remember the Georgia Tech team. Not a top equelon team but had trouble.

The Browns need to win this one so they can hold a bidding war between TB and Minn. for the rights to Johnson. They can get extra picks and still get their man AP.

The nfl needs to institute a new rule when it comes to draft order, as there is a huge error that is unearthed in this situation. The system for determining draft order is first final record, then strength of schedule, then a coin flip. The only problem is that Tampa beat Cleveland in the regular season, so why should they have a chance to pick before them?? This needs to be fixed.

The browns have plenty of receving talent and dont really need a WR, the buccs, however, do. I am a big Buckeye fan, and like Joey Galloway alot, but he just cant do it on his own, that is why the buccs will get Calvin Johnson, and the Browns will get Adrian Peterson. And the Lions might make another stupid draft pick, like last year, they chose Simms instead of an offensive powerhouse, like Jay Cutler or Matt Linert. They even could have chosen Santonio Holmes, but Millen is stupid and will mess up this draft for the Lions

I will no longer be a Browns fan if they pass on Quinn. I was really sold on Savage at first, but I lost a lot of respect for him when he drafted Brodney Pool w/ the second pick when the Browns already had Brian Russell and Sean Jones.

I thought he really redeemed himself with a great draft and free agency this year, but if he passes on Quinn for Injurian Peterson, I'm done w/ the Dawg Pound. You can only take being a pathetic loser without hope for so long.

That "giving up on the Browns" post is terrible. If you are willing to give up just because you aren't winning, then you are no real fan. I am a Bengals fan and have always been. We had to go through a decade of misery before we finally cracked the playoffs again. I was there for the years of the Bungles, and I will still be here when they put it together and win the Super Bowl this year.

So many things wrong with these comments. *Sigh* Here goes:

If Russell is overrated, then Quinn is a sure-fire bust. Notre Dame has been the most overrated team in college football for little over a decade. Who did they even play last year? Let's take a look. Now, they did trample Penn St., got lucky agains GTech, got rolled over by Michigan, barely beat Michigan St., barely beat UCLA, got crushed by USC, and then embarrassed by LSU.

Russell's hype didn't start with the Sugar Bowl; the kid plays in the SEC, and like someone said, he played top defenses all year. The only two times he looked bad were against Florida (who made OSU look pathetic) and Auburn...can't say that Quinn only looked bad against top defenses, since he only played TWO (Mich and LSU), and got STOMPED both times. So how is Russell overrated if he's a MUCH better scrambler with, a MUCH better arm, that succeeded against MUCH better competition?

Whoever said the SEC is overrated HAD to be joking, right? As much as it pains me to say it, the SEC is the premier conference in college football. If there's a better conference in college football, please, enlighten me...

How is drafting an incredibly fast linebacker who racked up 124 tackles in his rookie year a bad pick? The draft isn't just about picking QBs, in case you didn't know. Santonio Holmes? Huh? Are you serious? He was a reach at pick 32. (begin sarcasm) Besides, that's JUST what the Lions needed, to draft another receiver (end sarcasm). The Lions have gone offensive with every one of their first-rounders since 2000; one, just ONE of those guys (Roy Williams) has panned out to date. If anything, they would have been stupid if they HAD gone with an offensive player in '06. You either didn't think before you typed that, or you know nothing about NFL football, and even less about how a good team is run.

The Browns' running game is atrociuous; they would be dumb not to draft Adrian Peterson, even if he is injury prone. Rueben Droughns is a band-aid (and not a very good one). All of this year's available running backs are either washed-up (Jamal Lewis) or also injury prone (Ahman Green), and I don't think the Chargers will give up Mike Turner without a fight.

Brian Russell isn't good, he was lucky enough to be in the right place at the right time for an entire season. He's slow, he can't hit, and he's almost 30. Poole will be infinitely better than Russell, and already took his job. A healthy Sean Jones is a beast though.

The last guy is right, giving up on your team because they suck is the mark of a bandwagon fan. Maybe you should live in New York, so you can flip-flop between the Jets and Giants every year like so many other New Yorkers.

If you think that russell can't hit, just remember the beast hit he took out on ocho cinco week 2. That was the hit of the year.
