At offensive guard, Keydrick Vincent and Jason Brown are the current starting pair, but an upgrade can be made, and the team will likely add depth on the offensive line, and may work to find a suitable replacement starter for one of the guards heading into next season. In the middle of that offensive line is center Mike Flynn. Flynn will turn thirty-three before the opening of next season, and the veteran center doesnít have a legitimate backup. Baltimore must find a backup center for the time being, but the ultimate intent will be to find Flynnís replacement. The sooner the team addresses this area of need, the better off they will be heading into the coming season. The offensive line as a whole could use some youth and depth.
On defense, the linebacker position is one that will likely be addressed early in the draft. The Ravens lost Adalius Thomas to New England in free agency, and Ray Lewis will be turning thirty-two shortly. Lewis has many miles on his frame as well, so the team will need to consider the future at the position. The team could go a few different directions early on, but it should surprise no one if they do address this spot.
One other area of need is at the signal-caller spot. McNair is thirty-four years of age, and with his style of play, his body must feel even older. If Kyle Boller is going to be given another chance to lead the team once McNair is gone, then the need is reduced, but the team will likely try to bring in more talent to challenge Boller or simply groom behind McNair.
