1) OAKLAND-JaMarcus Russell, QB, LSU
Russell fits the mold of what Al Davis wants, he offers some mobility behind a poor offensive line. His strength and physical capabilities will allow him to withstand some of the pressure and his strong arm will enable him to get the ball down field to Randy Moss and other WRs. Russell also has actually won some of the big games as well rather than Quinn.

2) DETROIT-Brady Quinn, QB, Notre Dame
Although Quinn is overrated, the Lions will not pass on him in this situation. Kitna was solid last year so if they decide to keep Kitna for one more year and groom Quinn for the future if they would like. Plus the Lions will eventually need a good young QB to get the ball to their wideouts in the future, Kitna isn't the future so Quinn is the pick.

3) CLEVELAND-Adrian Peterson, RB, Oklahoma
Reuben Droughns is a fullback by trade and is the Browns starting RB, Droughns isn't young either. Peterson is a young powerful runner that fits the Browns mold in their power running game.

4) Tampa Bay-Calvin Johnson, WR, Georgia Tech
Johnson is one of the more talented receivers to come out in years and the Buccaneers won't be able to afford to pass on him. Michael Clayton and Johnson will be a force to reckon with in the future, giving the Buccaneers two powerul physique WRs to go along with speedster Joey Galloway.

5) Arizona-Joe Thomas, OT, Wisconsin
The Cardinals offense is just a good offensive line away from being great, so they take the best lineman in the draft and protect Matt Leinart and the Cardinals offense for years to come.

6) Washington-Gaines Adams, DE, Clemson
The Redskins are in desperate need of a pass rushing DE as their defense is getting old and could use some youthfulness on the Dline so they take the best DE in the draft

7) Minnesota-Dwayne Jarrett, WR, USC
The Vikings are not happy with the production of Troy Williamson, he is a speed burner but the Vikings released Marcus Robinson so they need a big physical WR in Jarrett to compliment Williamson and regain that good passing game that the Vikings used to have

Cool Houston-Alan Branch, DT, Michigan
The Texans need to build their defense, they need a DT that can draw attention away from Mario Williams and keep the offensive lineman off of great rookie linebacker DeMeco Ryans. Branch will enable the Texans playmakers to make plays by keeping blockers off of the Texans defenders, Branch is the best DT in the draft

9) Miami-Levi Brown, OT, Penn St
The Dolphins could use a little help along the offensive line, their line wasn't awful this year but none of their lineman our standout great players, Levi Brown can feel that role and help protect Culpepper or Harrington next year.

10) Atlanta-Laron Landry, SS, LSU
Laron Landry is the best safety in the draft as he benefited by staying in school for his final year. The Falcons are old at safety and need help there so they take the hard hitting Landry here.

11) San Francisco-Tedd Ginn Jr, WR, Ohio St
The 49ers like a playmaker at the receiver position, they have a receiver by commitee with Taylor Jacobs, Battle, and Antonio Bryant. Ginn gives them a burner on the outside that can make plays in the special teams area along side Battle.

12) Buffalo-Pat Willis, LB, Ole Miss
London Fletcher appears to be on his way out of Buffalo, they are taking the younger route on the defensive side of the ball with them taking Whitner, McCargo, and Youboty last year. Willis the best LB in the draft and they continue to build a young stout defense.

13) St. Louis-Amobi Okoye, DT, Louisville
The Rams need help in the interior of their defense, Okoye is very young and has tremendous upside, he will take some of the pressure off of Leonard Little as Okoye is a good pass rusher as a DT as well, Okoye probably has the most upside of any Dlineman in this draft

14) Carolina-Reggie Nelson, S, Florida
The Panthers have good young corners but could use help at the safety position so they take the underclassman Reggie Nelson to load up their secondary

15) Pittsburgh-Jammal Anderson, DE, Arkansas
Year in and year out the Steelers need a young DE but they refuse to draft one. Last year we tried to give them Tamba Hali and the Steel curtain fans claimed he was too small for their 3-4 defense, but Tamba is on the all defensive rookie team so we knew what we were talking about and still do. The steelers should take the good DE out of Arkansas who is coming off of a great season with arkansas, and he will work nicely with their defense.

16) Green Bay-Robert Meachem, WR, Tennessee
Brett Favre may stick around or may not but the bottom line is even if he is back they need more weapons on the receiver end. Meachem is a big time speed burner with good size that will be a nice compliment to Greg Jennings and Donald Driver.

17) Jacksonville-Quentin Moses, DE, Georgia
The Jaguars lack a dominant pass rusher, they have the 2 best DTs in the game and need to utilize them by getting a good pass rusher and becoming one of the best Dlines in the NFL. Moses is a risky pick but the upside is worth it here at this pick with no glaring needs

1Cool Cincinnati-DeMarcus Tyler, DT, NC St.
The Bengals need a DT to go along with or replace old veteran Sam Adams so they make the move on the defensive side of the ball. Robert Geathers just agreed to a extension even though he is a thug for his dirty hit on Trent Green that was totally avoidable and he celebrated the play after he saw Green on the ground and then never called Green to even apologize so they need a DE with that guy roaming the field.

19) Tennessee-Sidney Rice, WR, South Carolina
Rice is a big receiver with speed coming off of 2 big years at the college level, Rice gives Young a good weapon to along with the TEs he likes to throw to, The Titans as well need to keep Drew Bennett

20) New York Giants-MarShawn Lynch, RB, California
Tiki Barber is retiring and Brandon Jacobs looked much better this year but the Giants are not sure he can handle the load for a whole season so they take a great RB in Lynch and hope that he can provide some speed to go along with Jacobs power.

21) Denver-Darrelle Revis, CB, Pittsburgh
With the tragic murder of Darrent Williams, the Broncos are without a 2nd CB unfortunately so they take the best Corner in the draft to compliment Champ Bailey

22) Dallas-Michael Griffin, S, Texas
The Cowboys need a safety to go along with Roy Williams, Griffin is a great all around player and will make a good story of rival schools players working together as a duo in the secondary.

23) Kansas City-Leon Hall, CB, Michigan
Leon Hall could arguably be a top 10 pick but after Jarrett had a hay day against him it hurt his stock, he still has a lot of upside and is a good corner that will have time to be groomed behind two very good cbs in Ty Law and Patrick Surtain.

24) New England (From Seattle)-Paul Posluszny, LB, Penn St
The Patriots need to revamp their defense with some youthfulness and Paul fits the mold of a typical Patriots linebacker, the pats linebackers are getting old and posluszny brings toughness and talent to the defense

25) New York Jets-Michael Bush, RB, Louisville
The Jets still don't have a long term answer at rb, Leon Washington is a good #2 rb with good speed but Bush is built to be a career 1st rb before his injury may have been the best rb in this draft. Bush will be a big bruising back for the Jets able to eat up clock and is an extradordinary athlete with good speed and great size.

26) New Orleans-Daymeion Hughes, CB, California
The Saints secondary wasn't very good this year, they really need some better players in this area and Hughes will help

27) Philadelphia-H.B. Blades, LB, Pittsburgh
Blades will replace Trotter for the near future because Trotter is getting old and has bad knees. Blades has great blood lines as well and will fit in well in philly as he stays in state

2Cool New England-LeMarr Woodley, DE, Michigan
The Patriots totally revamp their front seven with the addition of Woodley. Woodley fits the 3-4 defense perfectly as he could line up at outside backer or at DE, Patriots get a huge steal with this pick

29) Baltimore-Rufus Alexander, LB, Oklahoma
The Ravens Linebacking crew is getting old and alexander will be molded into a great linebacker for the Ravens for the future

30) San Diego-Dwayne Bowe, WR, LSU
Bowe is a big athletic speedy receiver and will do great in San Diego with a great running game Bowe will beat CBs down the field on play action passes and be able to outbattle small Cbs for the ball because of his great size and athleticism.

31) Chicago-Joe Staley, OT, Central Michigan
The Bears have a good line already in place and they take a young tackle to help their power running game in the future.

32)Indianapolis-Quinn Pitcock, DT, Ohio St.
The Colts run defense was awful this year up until the playoffs, so they adress their need with a big run stuffing tackle in Pitcock who will clog wholes.

I love the Rufus Alexander pick to the Ravens. I think he will improve his draft stock in the combine and would be a great player in that defense. I like the insight.

Geathers was pushed into Green by a Chief. He just got a sack, what do you expect him to do, its not like he laughed in his face, most QBs just lay there anyways. if it was his fault he would have gotten a roughing the passer flag, which he did not. I'm only being this hostile because you had no reason to trash talk a class player.

Like the pick though.

The Browns won't pass up Joe Thomas.

Michael Bush is not a first-round pick at this point.

Bad pick for the Titans in the situation, Revis is a fantastic corner prospect who fills our greatest need, and he'd be the pick any day over an overrated receiver who should have stayed in school.

I just wanted to comment about Geathers. Eddie Kennison had one arm on him there was no way he could possibly of forced Geathers to make that hit. Green was already in his slide and he could of dove over the top. He was headhunting on one of the classiest guys in the NFL, Trent Green even called and consoled Carson Palmer after his injury and they had never met.

I have no problem with KC's pick but personally I'd rather have Staley since OT is a more pressing need then CB is

Did kimo call Carson? Green did as Carson called green.I just don't like tank this early go along with Sam adams? we have peko who has shown hes worthy of a starting postion...we need someone who will play next to peko in the future ala reason why perfer later DT pick over a 1st.

DE could be very big need if justin smith walks...as could LB or CB...

What he said. If Thomas goes before the Browns pick, Peterson is a good selection.

Oh, and don't bet the farm on the QBs going 1 and 2.

With the salary cap ever-increasing, Shaffer's contract will be considered average for a RT in a year or two.

Personally, I'm not an advocate for trading down unless we get 2 first day picks in exchange. 5 first day picks would be the only way I would move out of the top 5 this year.
