I think he can be a really good DE for KC but I thought they would give Jared Allen a shot at starting DE after making 9 sacks during his rookie season last year. Or did they get Hall to play behind him and Hicks. Plus if they traded a draft pick where does taht leave them on the Surtain Trade? I think Surtain should be their biggest concern for making a trade and they should just move up their offer to a 3rd because Surtain is worth a 1st round pick inb my eyes because picks aren't even garenteed to make an impact anyways.

I really really really doubt it is a 5th round pick, because Carl could have made and offer and then gave the 7th round for compensation, so why would they give a 5th? And you are talking about Carl Peterson king of lowballing. I doubt it is a 5th

Actually, when he signed it was reported that Hall would challenge Allen.
The talk on other boards is Hicks will be the starting LDE and Hall/Allen will compete for RDE. Whoever shows they can play the best against the run will start. Then Hall and Allen will both be in on passing downs. |

So far it's an undisclosed pick. The deal won't even be official until Hall passes a physical. We'll probably find out then what the pick is. |

According to this article it IS a 5th rounder, and he is going to challenge Hicks, not Allen. Take it for what it is worth...

Hall will contribute a little, but you'll find that he has so many stupid mistakes it's rediculous. He gets to the QB a lot, but he just can't finish for his life. He also has a small tendency to commit stupid penalties. I think the Titans got the better end of this deal, but that may just be the homer in me.
