The Bears are looking to move Thomas Jones this offseason. If you guys are interested, just inquire in our War Room. Smile

You guys think Thomas Jones is a thunder back? I'd like him. But a fat salary may not be very attractive.

Eh... Thomas Jones is ok, I wouldn't want to take the salary though.

I think Willis should still be our 1st RB priority, but should also look into Turner, but will cost a lot in compensation

Other possibilities we've talked about are Greg Jones (inj risk), Ahman Green (inj risk), Jamal Lewis (hits the hole and falls down a lot risk), Musa Smith (inj risk), Fred Taylor (inj risk + exp) and Ladell Betts (would take a lot to get)

We have also talked about drafting a back: moving up for AP (depends on cost, most likely not an advocate), moving up to early 2nd to snag M. Bush (inj risk, but I like a lot) and possibly some other guys

I haven't concluded on what I reccommend, just trying to list all of the options we have talked about so far

I actually do like the Hawaii guy a lot... he's like a little tree trunk...

Copied from Eagles forum:

RB Nate Ilaoa - Hawaii - 5'9" 245 lbs, 4.55

Don't let his "big-boned" appearance fool you, this back can fly and is the ultimate dual threat. Believe it or not, Ilaoa has great speed and an excellent burst. However, his pudgy build limits his agility and ability to make guys miss with moves in the open field. Still, he can outrun, run over, or carry for extra yards any would-be tacklers. Ilaoa is actually listed as a WR on ESPN.com's Hawaii roster, which is an understandable misconception, given how frequently he is used in the passing game. This "Little Big Man" accounted for 1827 yards of total offense (837 receiving, 990 rushing) and 18 TDs in 2006. He has tremendous lower body strength, tree-trunk thighs, a low center of gravity, and runs hard, all of which make him nearly impossible to bring down on first contact. Ilaoa also uses his blockers very well and is patient in waiting for holes to open up. He has had injury problems (surgeries on knees, elbows, shoulders) in the past and now plays with a brace on his left knee, but he doesn't let that slow him down. Nate's injury history and unusual body type (see: weight) will hurt his stock in the draft, but his combination of run and pass-catching ability will make him a viable weapon in an NFL team's offense. Truth be told, I haven't seen him on ANY draft websites and he might not even get drafted at all, but NFL teams would be wise to give him a look.

If he was fairly inexpensive Id be interested in the stoner RB Wink

Laughing He's taken all the tests the past year, and he's still taking them right now. He's passed all of them. He's going to be back this year.

Also, Jamal Lewis wouldn't be a bad idea now that I think about it. he has the power we are looking for and was a GA HS boy.

Alright guys, i like the hometown guys just as much as anyone but we can't just sign guys who are from Georgia.. Smile

I like the deal, but I'm definitely not a fan of Jamal Lewis. He has a ton of mileage and really didn't look very good last year. I watched a lot of ravens games and for as big as he is, I really don't think he's a very good "power" runner. I would much rather go in a different direction than Jamal.

Im not so sure about the Veron Haynes trade. I think there are better avenues out there that we can pursue.
