| You are right Frank, Wansstupid only legacy was a lot of dissapointments to the fans who season after season saw how the team became in a disaster because the Wanstted never think in a future. Hopefully I think that Saban has the capacity to turn around this situatión and take us to the next level. |

It wasn't that much better under Jimmy Johnson. For all the hype he got of being a Draft Guru, here's what he did in his tenure:
Jimmy Johnson Era:
1st Rounders
Daryl Gardner (1996)
Yatil Green (1997)
John Avery (1998)
2nd Rounders
Sam Madison (1997)
Patrick Surtain (1998)
Kenny Mixon (1998)
JJ Johnson (1999)
Rob Konrad (1999)
3rd Rounders
Dorian Brew (1996)
Karim Abdul Jabbar (1996)
Jason Taylor (1997) -edited to add
Derrick Rodgers (1997)
Ronnie Ward (1997)
Brent Smith (1997)
Brad Jackson (1998)
Larry Shannon (the next Randy Moss) (1998)
Grey Ruegamer (1999)
4th Rounders
Kirk Pointer (1996)
Stanley Pritchett (1996)
LaCurtis Jones (1996) (I think he threatened to shoot someone when he was cut)
Jerome Daniels (1997)
Lorenzo Bromell (1998)
Hunter Goodwin (trade- 1999)
5th Rounders
Jeris McPhail (1996) – Or is it spelled Jeris McFailed?
Shane Burton (1996)
Zach Thomas (1996)
James Brown (trade 1997)
Barron Tanner (1997)
Nicholas Lopez (1997)
Scott Shaw (1998)
Cecil Collins (1999)
Bryan Jones (1999)
Kevin Gogan (1999 – Trade)
6th Rounders
Shawn Wooden (1996)
John Fiala (1997)
Brian Manning (1997)
Mike Crawford (1997)
Ed Perry (1997)
Nathan Strikwerda (1998)
John Dutton (1998)
Brent Bartholomew (1999)
7th Rounders
Jeff Buckey (1996)
Brice Hunter (1996)
Hudhaifa Ismaeli (1997)
Jim Brunden (1998)
Tyrone Wheatley (trade-1999)
Jermaine Haley (1999)
Joe Wong (1999)
Obviously JJ thought the key was quantity. But two of crap is still crap. He obviously gets credit for taking Zach Thomas, a major steal, but for the most part it looks like A LOT more misses than hits. _________________ "22 players are involved in every football play. And Mercury you forgot another big steal form JJ in 1997 "JASON TAYLOR".
Maybe JT and ZT was the only 2 players well scouted by him |

Of interest:
In 1999 many of the pre-draft rags had the following "backs" as the top recruits coming out:
#1 Ricky Williams - was a Dolphin
#2 Edgerrin James - Could be a Dolphin
#3 Cecil Collins - was a Dolphin
#4 JJ Johnson - was a Dolphin
#5 Rob Konrad - was a Dolphin
Granted Konrad was a FB, but at least Pro Football Weekly listed them in the order above. Lets hope this years class pans out a little better for the Fins. _________________ "22 players are involved in every football play. Also who can forget Jimmy Johnson's fan favorite of passing on Randy Moss so he could take John Avery. He then went onto select the speedster Larry Shannon who was to be "as good as Moss" according to JJ.
Even Jay Fielder would have looked good throwing to Randy Moss. _________________ "22 players are involved in every football play. To value precisely the activity of one of them, it is first necessary to account for the actions of the other 21" |

| Right Mercury, maybe that was one of the most miserable moves mades by him, only because "he wanted to take a risk with Moss" and now in 2005 where are Avery? who remember him?. And think that maybe Moss could be the WR that Marino needed to take another chance to get a superbowl, who knows? |

While its not exactly the same thing the current equivalent would be this:
#1 Ronnie Brown - Was a Dolphin
#2 Cadillac Williams - Could be a Dolphin
#3 Cedric Benson - was a Dolphin
#4 Ciatrick Fason - was a Dolphin
#5 Vernand Morency - was a Dolphin _________________ "22 players are involved in every football play. To value precisely the activity of one of them, it is first necessary to account for the actions of the other 21" |
