The Philadelphia Eagles

Attention
There has already been some confusion as to how the trade process works with this franchise. The process is as follows:
1. ok go26 is the trade negotiator. Only trades negotiated through him are available for consideration.
2. Trades must be confirmed with a 'yes' vote by the Eagles' General Manager (Steegles46), Assistant General Manager (ok go26), and the Head Coach (SuperBowlEagles) before the trade is officially confirmed by the organisation. Any trade not receiving all three 'yes' votes will not be confirmed by the organisation.
3. Only the Eagles' General Manager has the authority to send a PM to a member of the trade council to review a finalised trade. Any trade PMed to the trade council by any other member of the Eagles' staff will not be considered confirmed by the organisation.

I'm sorry for any previous and future confusion.

Cool, I made it... thanks, Steegles.

Now, I know I'm not a scout, but I have already written numerous scouting reports on certain 2007 draft prospects. Should I list them here? Also, should I list which FA offensive players I think should be re-signed?

Absolutely! Go ahead and post them, and I'll try to figure out how to link directly to posts within a thread so that I can post links to it in the first post for easy reference.

Did I miss something, or is there no Assistant GM listed there?

Either way, if I did miss something, just tack me on as a scout, please.

Haha, no worries man... wow, "sAssistant General Manager," that's quite a position... but yeah, thanks.

Should we start talking about who we want to re-sign and all yet?

Woot, I'm glad I made it. I think I'll get to work on a "Big Board" as far as our defense is concerned. If Birds_I_View wants to set one up for the offense, we can mesh the two and that'll be a good start as to determining who we want. Sound like a good idea?

Definitely... although I think we should make sure that this stuff reflects the opinions of the actual Eagles staff, in terms of giving lineman and the like a little more priority than other guys.

Also, we should probably start looking at our free agents and seeing who we want to keep.

Yeah, I'll take all that into consideration. Hopefully I'll get a big board of about 25 players together soon.

Eagles Free Agents
Barber, Shawn (LB) UFA
-I think we'd be better off going with the youth angle. He's been good, but now that McCoy's a backup I don't think we need him.
Buckhalter, Correll (RB) UFA
-I want to keep him. We didn't stick with him through his injuries to drop him after a breakout year.
Garcia, Jeff (QB) UFA
-For a minimal salary I'd love him to stay, but I think someone will give him starter money and we still have McNabb, and a capable backup in Feeley.
Hood, Roderick (CB) UFA
-He's gone. Starting somewhere else.
James, William (CB) UFA
-I think he's a good nickel back, and we should get a dime back in the draft and be good at CB for a little while.
Lewis, Michael (S) UFA
-Gone.
Mahe, Reno (RB) UFA
-He was our special teams guy, and he's been coming out of the game recently when we're looking for a big return. I think this is the year when he doesn't come back.
McCoy, Pat (OT) ERFA
-Can't say I know enough about him. But if he made the team this year, my instinct says that he should come back next year.
Mikell, Quintin (S) UFA
-Our new Jason Short.
Stallworth, Donte (WR) UFA
-Yes.
Thomas, Juqua (DE) UFA
-Triple-yes.
Thomas, William (OT) UFA
-Get him back, give him no more than 3 years. Probably closer to 2.

So that means we'd be giving up 5 guys from this year's roster. I think that these are all pretty reasonable, but some of the guys I could be easily convinced to go the other way on.

Also, we need to figure out lengths for the guys we're getting back.

I agree with all this, except for maybe Juqua Thomas. It's not that I think we shouldn't bring him back, but he's done a good enough job this year to attract significant interest in FA. I wouldn't be surprised to see him demand a larger contract, and I'd be even less surprised to see the FO let him walk.
