I have seen no indication that they tendered him an offer yesterday, which IMO was foolish. Everyone else seems to be indifferent to that, but I think it was an avoidable mistake. With no offer tendered, Risner can no longer affect the Vikings comp picks. Had the team tendered Risner, the result could have been a third-round compensatory pick if someone else signed him. Alternatively, if nobody signed him, he the Vikings would have had exclusive negotiating rights with him.

That was me I think. It was an in route where he started his break and drifted about 6 yards up field. Compare that to DK who usually does it in about 2 yards and GP who does it in about 4. He was telling breaks with his arms by sticking his elbows out. If it was injury and it was that bad, then why was he even playing? He was a net 0 on the field and makes no sense for him to be there if he's hurt. I see a lot of the offense, quarterback, and play calling being blamed, and yes it's part of the issue. Yet Pickens managed to have 1000+ yards, DJ would have had 1000+ yards with a full season, Najee had a total 1100+ yards, Warren had a total of 1000+ yards. If you take his 1 start combined with his 4 other big contribution games and extrapolate that over an entire season it's good for 41 catches, 486 yards, 4 TD. And on the entire year he had only 11 carries. And just because I was curious the WR's with the most carries (and I know not all are the same): Deebo Samuel (37, 6.1ypc), Rondale Moore (28, 6.4ypc), Derius Davis (14, 7.2ypc), CeeDee Lamb (14, 8.1 ypc), Puka Nacua (12, 7.4ypc), Laviska Shenault (12, 4.6ypc). And Austin and those near him: Austin (11, 5.2ypc), Tank Dell (11, 4.6ypc), Jayden Reed (11, 10.8ypc), Kadarius Toney (11, 2.8ypc), KaVontae Turpin (11, 10.0), Tre Tucker (10, 7.7ypc). Andways, point made that there's really only one guy that sticks out there and it's Tank Dell because he was so good as a WR and just terrible at the carries. All the other guys around Austins area (Shenault, Toney) aren't that great. Anywho. I hope that Austin turns into something, but there was more than just "bad offense" at play here.

How do you know that Kwesi didn't try to move up for Maye? You have to have a willing partner. I like that he didn't give up next years first. I like drafting McCarthy where they did AND moving up to 17 to get the best defensive player in the draft, according to a lot of experts. The first round, Kwesi earned an A.

And if that's the case, we get higher picks in the draft. I also would not rule out trading Parsons next year for multiple picks. If a rebuild is actually happening with this draft, next year we would have enough capital to move up and take who ever we wanted/needed.

It may be year three, but I am still enjoying the breath of fresh air. You talk a lot about how Spielman left the team in a bad situation, and I don't disagree completely, but it is worth noting that Spielman didn't leave the cupboards bare. He left a veteran team that was in win-now mode more than a team focused on the future, but I want a team that has a GM That will focus on the present more than the future sometimes -- especially when the time was right. Spielman was giving it his best shot with Cousins. The future cupboard wasn't empty either. Justin Jefferson is a huge piece. The great record in KAMs first year was Spielman's team -- KAM didn't do much to improve it that year. Hockenson was nice, but if that is all a GM does to improve a team in a year it's pretty bad. Cupboards must be stocked at a rate much faster than one Hockenson a year. Spielman was kept around several years too long. KAM has stood out both positively and negatively at times, but mostly not stood out at all. In the next year or two things will break one way or the other for him, but for now I have him at a C and I am happy to see how things work with him for at least another year (probably two). If he hasn't stood out positively more by then it will be time to move on. Like all GMs, a lot will come down to whether he solves the QB situation.

unless its something severe like the wrong two teams, its not my policy to replay a game based on host error. once i release them, they're canon.
