i don't know what's going on here guys. we are getting all these marginal DL's, when marques douglas is still available. is there any reason we didn't make a big push for him? i'm assuming that we won't go after him anymore because of the money we spent on warren, brown and ekuban.
and any word on the trevor pryce front? i'm still hoping he restructures and sticks around. i'm a huge fan of his, especially with his ability to play 3-4 end. _________________

I'm assuming that since the Broncos have signed 3 defensive linemen, they will look for secondary help in the draft now?

that's tough to say right now tonkatruck. just because they got 3 DL's, doesn't mean they're any good. i would say that a DB will be taken now just because we have good depth if anything else at DL. _________________

honestly i think its time to take best player available at either DB or DL.
DE, DT, CB, S, any of those positions. best available at one of those 4.
these deals do give us more flexibility in the draft though. we could go CB in round one, then maybe matt jones in the second, for when the inevitable happens and rod smith retires. i think even khalif barnes is in the mix now, because honestly i'm not sold on our line yet. or we could go CB at 25, then go QB in round 2.
but there are no more GLARING needs which is great. _________________

| Like my other post below i really feel like they will take Fabian Washington (even though he isn't worth a 1st round pick in my opinion)... but Denver needs speed and he is fast and is a decent coverage guy.. but i would like Denver to take Carlos Rogers (if he falls that far) or i really like Corey Webster.. i feel Webster can be a great fit for this D and play alongside Champ... but i still believe Denver will take Washington tho because of his speed... with the 25th pick. |

| I think denver got obsessed with the fact that Courtney Brown and Gerard Warren were #1 and #3 overall picks respectively. They have not proven themselves as elite DL. If they fail to pass rush effectively, Denver is screwed. |

I say Marque Doulas is only a marginal player too but picking up basically the whole d-line from the Browns isn't that great to me, unless they want to be the next team to be ran on for another NFL record for yards in a game. They probablt are looking to draft a CB, OG, or WR in the draft now that they stacked their line with potential losers. _________________ POINT PROVEN!!!! |

| perhaps they will trade trevor and the #25to the cowboys (who need a DE) for the #12 and draft either edwards or williams |

| Once again know it all you show you know nothing...Brown was injured Ekuban was on Dallas Meyers was...i have no idea... not on the browns...so the only D-lineman on the field when Lewis ran all over the browns was Warren,so how is it you say Denver is gonna get ran all over,if anything C.Brown is a great run defender that was the biggest knock on drafting him first you don't take a run stuffing DE number 1 overall. |

The thing is, Jamals 295 yard performance wasnt all the fault of the Dline. He broke about 4 50+ yard runs which, started with the Dline, but are more the fault of the secondary and linebackers. yea, consistend 5+ gains can be attributed to poor line play, but the safeties and cbs in that game looked scared to get near him in the open field. it wasnt all the dlines fault. |

We're still pursuing Douglas.
These lineman were for cheap and we're getting rid of Pryce, so we'll save more money anyways.
Trading/Cutting Pryce will save us around six million.
I doubt the contracts of these three are much more than that together, plus getting rid fo Droughns frees up cash too.
They're incentive contracts and if they do bad, no harm -- no foul.
This isn't Daryl Gardener re-visited.
We still need a pass rushing DT. Patterson, Castillo and Mosely are our best options.
These were three decent pick ups and I cant wait to see if they pan out.
Plus with Ebukan, if he doesn't get healthy -- we get compensation.
We'll probably look at the secondary and receivers in the first now.
Offensive lineman if a good tackle falls.
You just never know with Denver though. _________________

right now i've got these people as who we should target in the first round:
Matt Jones WR - i wish we could get him in round 2, but that's seeming more and more unlikely.
Khalif Barnes OT - lepsis is 31, and the jury's still out on foster.
Carlos Rodgers CB - might be the 2nd best corner prospect in the draft.
Thomas Davis S - lynch is on his way out, and we need someone to replace kenoy. maybe brodney pool instead.
Shaun Cody DL - a hybrid DL, really good for our 3-4 sets _________________

Matt Jones would be there by #25, but taking a huge risk on someone who hasn't had much experience at WR/TE is just too much for us right now.
Barnes will go before us, Texans and Rams need a tackle -- Brown and Barnes are the two best.
Rodgers should be gone before we pick, Justin Miller is a viable option though.
Davis will be gone, Pool could fall to us.
Cody's back injury scares me, plus Coyer said our base is 4-3. We still need a LE and a true pass rushing DT.
Mosley, Patterson and Castillo are those options. _________________

shanahan takes a lot of risks on draft day. not many have worked out great.
you forgot about barron when you talk about OT's. barnes could be there.
and ya, c. rogers would be a stretch to fall to us, but hey we could trade up with pryce.
and i've been seeing more and more draft stuff saying thomas davis could fall to mid 2nd round. _________________
