1- Khalif Barnes/Elton Brown (depends on what they really plan to do with Andrews)
2a- Matt Roth
2b- Alex Smith
3a- Marion Barber III
3b- Rian Wallace
I think this would address their needs and I think it's possible. |

Well lets see,
OnTheWayToDetroit06 says,
"1- Khalif Barnes/Elton Brown
(depends on what they really plan to do with Andrews)"
I like the idea OT and DE up front. I would switch DE to 31
and OT to 35. Might be tempted to move 31 up a couple of spots
to around 25 if a good DE dropped a little. But I do not like your
players at OT/OG. Elton just ran a 40 in 5.8 and did 19 lifts, not good
Barens has talent but has a little dog in him and is soft.
I like M. Johnson. He can play both OG and OT and is
hard nose and always keeps working. Barnes is good but can't play OG.
I just like Johnson better and he should be there at 35.
2a- "Matt Roth"
OK see my comments above. Roth or Tuck are OK
2b- "Alex Smith"
Like the pick but probably will be gone by 63
3a- " Marion Barber III "
Like the pick but probably will be gone by 77
3b- "Rian Wallace"
Eagles might do this but probably not. Over the last 3 drafts the highest
LB taken was in 2002 pick 198. LB will probably be in 2nd day.
Eagles do not see this position as a high need.

OK, I dissected your day one draft. Now its your turn.
This is how I would like it to play out.
These are the trades and non trades I would like to see.
31 keep, 35 keep,
Trade 63 + 94 = around 50
Trade 77 + 132 + 146 + 167 = around 56
So, eagles have on the 1st day 31, 35, 50, 56.
31 = DE -Tuck or Roth
35 = OT - Johnson -- can play OT & OG. AR like that versatility
50 = RB - Barber -- 220 lbs, 4.46 --- I hope AR goes to the bathroom
and someone sends in Barber's name before he get back.
56 = TE Dreessen -- good hands, hard nose, long snapper
Good second TE to Smith.
2nd day Eagles have a 172 [5th], 211 [6th], and 245, 247, 252, [all 7th]
They can draft BAP and get depth at LB, OL, DT, whatever |

I don't mind any of the picks in either mock.
I think 77 + 132 + 146 + 167 -> 56 just doesn't seem likely. Good value, but you usually don't see 4-for-1 draft pick trades outside the 1st round.
JB, I think you might be overshooting the mark with Dreesen. I think he'd be there at 63 (at least) and probably even at 77, possibly at 94. Miller, Alex Smith, and Everett will probably all go ahead of him, which I think pushes him mid-late 3rd round.
If you target Dreesen with 63, you might be able to convert 77 and 94 into a low 50's pick for Barber. Then you'd still have your 132, 146, and 167 picks and still have the guys you wanted.
A bit later, I'll give my 1st day preferences... |

JB,
If those trades were really possible, not saying they're impossible but I don't think they'll happen, I'd love to get those picks. I didn't realize that Barber is expected to be a mid 2nd round pick. I would really like to see them get him though, anywhere after their first two picks.
Your first two picks would be fine with me, I'd just like to see them address those two spots.
I'm wouldn't be so happy with Dreesen though. I'd rather have Smith or Everett is Smith is gone. The Eagles need more threats in their offense and I don't see them doing this at WR so I'd like to see more of a threat at TE.
On the whole, I think we are on the same page as to what positions they need to address and I'd be happy with either of those drafts. |

Here's what I'd like...
#31 + #77 for Heath Miller. Many mocks have Miller in the 20's, most often to the Jets at #26.
#35 - Justin Tuck (or Roth or another that might have fallen)
#63 - Castillo or Mike Patterson. Alternatively, Mankins or another OL that may have fallen.
#94 - WR - Terrence Murphy, Roscoe Parrish, or Vincent Jackson
#146 & #167 for #120 - Safety (Atogwe if he slips)
#132 - RB - Ryan Moats, Darren Sproles (or someone better, if they've slipped)
Go for DL and OL with the compensatory picks |
