The Lions have the second, third, or fourth overall pick in this coming draft, and they take Calvin Johnson?

First off, would there be any possible chance of that happening, and second, would Millen not get fired the second he did that?

This is about the 100th different thread about Detroit taking a WR next year.

Here is a list of players I would take in top 5.

1. Joe Thomas- OT- Wisc
2. G. Adams- DE- Clemson
3. J. Gathier- OT- Maryland- If he declares

Not in that order but they are a few I would look at. I think it is a weak class this year.

I wouldnt mind trading down for DT- Brach from Michigan to put next to S. Rogers. Cody hasnt impressed me.

Calvin Johnson is a can't miss prospect. I wouldn't be too upset considering BMW hasn't seen the field much and other than Roy we don't have much at that position. Sooner or later people will blanket Roy with coverage like they should and we lack a big time reciever on the other side.

I doubt it happens because Marinelli will probably have some influence on the pick and they will most likely go defense or offensive line. I'd like to see us take Landry, or a shutdown corner. We do need to address the offensive line sooner or later because they strugle to keep pressure off the QB and make holes for KJ.

My hopes are Calvin Johnson or Leon Hall in the first round.

There is no such thing as a can't miss prospect at wideout. I would like to see us draft Woodley, mainly because I am a Michigan fan. Also Brohm or Quinn I wouldn't mind I know a lot of people are down on Quinn now but I think he will make a good pro player.

Personally I wouldn't have a problem with picking Calvin Johnson. Especially if we would be able to get a guy like Drew Stanton or Troy Smith in the second round.

Millen could do worse. Calvin Johnson is no doubt incredible and will be one of the top 3 prospects. Ideally, we would trade down since many teams will be looking to take him.

Leon Hall what a pick that would be, a michigan product... imagine the pressure on that kid.

(trying not to laugh)

Funny, this is the only draft website that has Jared Gaither in the top 50.

I agree with you. Alan Branch is a monster. After releasing Dan Wilkinson last season, this D-Line is not pressuring the QB as it used to. We got our Derrick Brooks clone in Ernie last draft; now let us get our Warren Sapp (or, Booger McFarland) in Branch. However, I do not see the current Lions GM (Millen or someone else) using a top five pick on him so this team needs to win some ball games.

As long as the Lions pick any of these 6 players they cannot mess up on.
Brady Quinn
Adrian Peterson
Calvin Johnson
Gaines Adams
Joe Thomas
Brian Brohm

How do you see Thomas being a bust? I haven't seen him play a whole lot, but i've heard good things about him and when I have seen him play he was solid.

That's what people said about Shawne Merriman and look at where he is. People questioned why pick him over Derrick Johnson.

If we had Merriman then everyone on here would be shouting about how the Lions drafted a guy hooked on steroids.

There is nothing I can do. I'm just a fan. I can complain and moan all I want as I did when this organization selected Mike Williams over Shawne Merriman or Derrick Johnson however it won't change the outcome. Would I be upset that Millen took another WR in the top 10 after he has missed on two? Yes. WR's are boom or bust in the top 10 and personally, I don't want another WR that high again. The reward isn't worth the risk.

Is there a chance that Calvin Johnson is a Lion? Yes. Will it happen? Probably not.
