Vikings shifting to 3-4?

Does it look like the Vikings are thinking about shifting to a 3-4 D for next season. They signed Pat Williams who would be a perfect NT for a 3-4 D. They acquired 2 LB's through trade so far. They could have both Williams play down and then shift Udeze, Johnstone, Scott around like the Patroits do with Willie McGinnest. Just a thought I always like 3-4 Defenses since it adds some deception with which LBs are going to blitz.

Cotrell has said they're not switching to the 3-4.

Kevin Williams is much better inside. I don't see him as a 3-4 DE. None of our LBs are really the big pass rushers that you'd want in a 3-4. They may use it a few downs, but 4-3 will be the base

Is it just me or are there rumors that a bunch of teams are switching to the 3-4. From reading Sporting News the Cowboys, Brows, Broncos are all thinking about it.

Don't switch to a 3-4. Please, I know we have a lot of good linebackers but, Kevin Williams is a beast inside. He will also only get better Pat Williams.

well for what it's worth both tice and cottrell have said in the recent past that they have no plans on switching to the 3-4 as their base d...

...but, they also said they were'nt trading randy moss.

I truely beleive we will not switch to the 3-4 but ........................
we may throw some 3-4 plays in there to disrupt opposing offenses
we do have the players to try it

We likely will, but they wont be announced to people, we will keep the 4-3 personel in...similar to what the patriots do in the playoffs, but reversed

i'd LOVE to see our defense shift around and actually confuse someone. they seem so static.

they better do something cause or defensive scheme over the last 5 or so yrs has had absolutely no creativity what so ever. this is something i complain about ever game, especially last year. i never once saw or d-linemen run a stunt (a sure fire way to put pressure on the qb) and i never saw one lb show blitz and drop into coverage while a lb or s blitzed from the opposite side...

any lineman will tell you it's always easier to play against the vikings than the eagles not just because the talent but the vikings you know who your blocking (the man in front of you on every play). where as playing against the eagles is a complete mind game because you really never know if the man in front of you is the man your really supposed to block.

so with that said our personel is best suited for the 4-3 and thats the way we should play it. all for mixing in the 3-4 tho.
