ILB #1 draft need. Phifer cut, Bruschi out, Johnson aging.
Who are the top ILBs in the draft?
B.Ruud NU's all time tackle with 4.7 speed.
O.Thurman Another top rated Bulldog.
R.McCune Louisville's MLB that can play outside with his 4.4 speed.
L.Mitchell Oklahomas MLB that is disapointing running 4.87s and 4.81s
C.Crowder Florida's young talent who might not fall far enough.
than theres the others which some have potential.
J.Beck,R.Wallace,M.Goolsby,B.Grigsby,A.Fincher,J.Pollard,R.Stanley,L.Turner. _________________ POINT PROVEN!!!! |

I am a vikings fan.....but I think you guys should take McCune in the second round. He has good upside in my eyes and with good coaching from good Ol' Bill can be very very good one day. I still think your #1 need personally is CB....... you lost your best CB and your CB are injury prone as it is. The CB position is deep in the first round with a nice ammount of potential greats. |

Asante Samuel, Tyrone Poole, Randall Gay, Duane Starks their #1 need is not a CB at all. They could get a CB in the 3rd round that is still good due to the depth at that position in this years draft plus look at Randall Gay, he wasn't even projected to make a team. _________________ POINT PROVEN!!!! |

Damn i forgot you guys signed Starks...... but arn't you still worried about having the same injury problems as last year? Yea I can see a ILB being your #1 need and if Crowder somehow falls to 32 then jump on him in a HEART beat..... |

Their best bet is to take the best quality MLB while they're srill on the board and take one of the many talented CBs in rd 2 or 3. But I think Samuel and Starks will be healthy starters with Gay and Poole backing them up and coming in on nickle and dime situations. _________________ POINT PROVEN!!!! |

Why would we be worried about injury problems???
Ty is gone...Poole is going to be a nickel or dime back anyway...
It doesn't matter what the "number one" need is. LB,WR and CB are all needs...and those are the positions we will draft at and sign players at. |

I think ILB is our #1 need.
Think is, that doesnt mean it needs to be addressed via the draft. Belichick prefers veterans at LB, so whether its a guy moving over or someone we sign, I think he addresses that spot with a veteran first, if he has his choice.
I like Lance Mitchell the best for this team. He's the best at sifting through traffic, he's got more experience than most. Thing is, after his workouts, I can't see him cracking the first two rounds. |

Turner would be good in the 7th round...
I personally like the idea of drafting an OLB and moving Vrabel inside...
Blackstock-Ware-Tuck at pick 32... _________________

Blackstock-Ware-Tuck at pick 32... | Turner? from LSU? He has 4.9 speed and even ran a 5 flat. No way waste that pick on him. OLB they have Vrabel 29 years old, Colvin 28 years old and McGinest why do you think they need a OLB. Phifer gone, Bruschi indefinate, T.Johnson starting to age. ILB to learn the system early and learn behind a veteran and as the 2nd ILB he won't have to call the plays. _________________ POINT PROVEN!!!! |

7th round buddy. Add in the fact that he already knows the scheme and that is a logical pick for the LAST PICK IN THE DRAFT!
How many LSU games have you seen? Turner is a run stuffer. He is in the mold of TJ.
How about you read some of the other threads we have on this. Why reach for an ILB when you could draft an impact player? Ware-Tuck-Blackstock are all better than Ruud or any other ILB most ppl have us taking at 32(besides CC). Vrabel will be able to switch inside if that happens. Vrabel is definitely better than TJ. I believe we will sign Foreman or trade for J. Sharper. Any Q's? Until that happens I will have the Pats taking the BPA at 32.
ROLB - Vrabel/Colvin
RILB - Foreman-Sharper/TJ
LILB - Bruschi/Klecko
LOLB - Ware-Tuck-Blackstock/McGinest
I think that looks pretty good on paper. Your thoughts? _________________

I think your doing a bit to much wishing... i know your not saying all of that will happen but still....
Sharper or Foreman...we will get one or non likely....
I think Willie is going to start over any rookie we draft... Don't you think he's earned that? Also if worst comes to worst Vrabel can move inside and Rosey can take his spot outside.... This is a guys that had 21 sacks in his last two seasons with the bears before he came here....that hip injury messed him up...but even if he gets back to 75-80% of what he used to be, he still be a very productive OLB.
So if the season started now....
ROLB - Covlin
ILB - Klecko
MLB - Vrabel
LOLB - McGinest/ Banta-Cain
Thats all we have....and Don Davis in a backup roll somewhere...
So unless we get a Solid MLB in Free Agency a rookie is likely going to be plugged in the MLB spot, this of course is if Tedy doesn't return. Which im really starting to believe he may not. |

If we get another ILB and Bruschi comes back, I would expect Rosie to start over Willie. At the end of last season he started looking good.
For the past couple seasons I have heard rumors that Willie will be a cap casualty
If we lose Troy AND Willie in the same year... _________________
