Here it is. Based on my thoughts they will sign Klemm from New England.
So here it is. These are my hopes what will happen

1. Shaun Cody DE-USC

2. Matt Jones WR/TE-Arkansas (hopefully wr with us)

3a. Ronald Bartrell Cb-Howard

3b. Kirk Morrison ILB-San Diego St. (compensatory pick for losing Burress)

Let me know what you think. Comments are appreciated.

First, I think comp picks are for the year after a player leaves, but why would a team get a comp pick for an UFA, I thought they were only for RFA. I could be wrong, but if someone has the true story I know I would appreciate the info. About the mock, I like your choices, what do you think of CB Davin Holly (Cincy) and ILB Adam Seward, UNLV as possible 3rds instead.

i used to be pulling for Cody in the first, but now i really want DeMarcus Ware. i would not be upset with Cody but this week i really like Ware, Jones and bartell need to be our 2nd & 3rd they would be great and should be avalible when we pick, morrison i could go wither way although you dont get any compensation for a unrestricted free agent. but if we did have a second 3rd i would look at Canty or Wilkerson if they are still on the board.

On Sat night, I was coming home late in the car and listening to one of the late night ESPN radio shows (to be honest, I forget which one; I think it was Todd Wright's). Anyway, he had Davin on as a guest, and I liked his personality. He seems intelligent and just by hearing him he seems to be a hard working guy (he grew up in Clairton). Here is a link to his team profile-

http://www.ucbearcats.com/sports/football/bio.asp?PLAYER_ID=1038

Also at the combine-5'10.25", 192#, 15 bench reps, 4.41 official (he said he talked with three others who were timing from the teams and they all had him at 4.32, in addition, someone from GB had him under 4.3). He was not a favorite before the combine, but after his 40 and several interviews in Indy, 31 of 32 teams came to Cincy's workout day and he spoke to all of them. He says his great strengths are in man coverage, but admits he needs continued work at stopping the run.

no they would get a comp pick next year the highest you can get is a 3rd, which i doubt Purress will get, but maybe, and if you are a restricted FA and you are offered a new deal some where else, your current team has a chance to counter-offer, but if they dont counter-offer and he leaves that team and goes to the other one, the old team will recieve a draft pick, the same year, and it will be the round the player was drafted in

example:Carlos Hall(might leave Titans) goes to Kansas City, and the Titans dont counter-offer, the Titans recieve the cheifs 7th rd, because thats when he was drafted.

Correct because the Titans got a 3rd rounder for when they lost Kearse to the Eagles last year.

doesn't the tender offer by teams contribute to what the compensation will be?

A third rounder is the highest a team can get from what I heard.

The NFL Formula for such things is just too much for this Canuck Brain to handle.....especially with a hangover.
