Pick up usa todays sports weekly, great story on Rolle. At his work out he went one one with chad johnson off the cuff and held his own. Johnson even said rolle is already a pro bowl caliber corner. Good enough for me.

did you read the NFL.com story about how he went to his combine interview in a business suit?

This guy is NOT really from the U, I mean he has Class . . . .

Remember Rolle is the New U, not Butchies ole playground. Rolle would represent Cleveland very well... could help bring back the feelings of the original DAWGS!

finally I find some fans who want Rolle. Fact is, you can't realistically get a lock down corner on the open market without overpaying and the only way to get one is through the draft. Baxter/Rolle/Jones/Cutch/Crocker/little/3,4,5 round safety will get the job done next year for the secondary.

Then we spend the 2nd pick on someone like Tuck/Blackstock/Burnett/Ware. Making the D amazingly better and young.

Generally, CB's, along w/ OT, are about the safest selections. Either they can cover or they can't. I think this would be a great pick.

Thanks for the info regarding USA Today and the Biz suit. I hadn't heard that.

Yeah, I would really be pushing for Rolle, conisdering my Ronnie Brown hopes dwindle by the day. I would also be pushing very hard for Mike Williams, he is the guy the current players are hoping for. Cnat be mad with either.

But I like our chances of getting a solid LB, OLB/DE in round 2, should we pass on DJ or Merriman.

Good story about Rolle. If Savage stays at 3 then I think he'll take either Rolle or Derrick Johnson as they are the two best players and a bit more of a sure thing than Mike Williams.

Rolle has a great mindset and I'd take him over Champ Bailey or Charles Woodson in a second.

What did Champ Bailey do last year. How 'bout Woodson? I seem to remember many commentators saying that they hadn't been NEARLY as effective this year under the new rules.
I think if the rules were what they were two years ago, Rolle would be a no-brainer.
But they aren't, and he isn't. He's a physical corner, and you have to wonder how that will translate to the NFL.
I think he'll be good, but he's got a lot of question marks.

You're misunderstanding what I wrote. I was saying that I think Antrel Rolle is far better than those guys. Champ Bailey and Charles Woodson are two of the most overrated players in the game. When people talk about them being the best they are just referring to them because others do, or because of what they did several years ago. Charles Woodson best years where at Michigan!!

Neither are amongst the best corners in the league, but I was just trying to illustrate that I think Rolle is going to be a better player than two of the most highly regarded prospects over the last decade.

And about the incidental contact rule. A lot of people are saying that because of this rule great corners arenít as valuable anymore. That is absolutely wrong. Because of the new rule having a top cornerback is even more important, because it is now more difficult to cover receivers than before. Rolle is physical and he will have to adjust his style for the NFL, but he has the ability to do so, and if the Browns drafted him he would have great coach to learn from.
