I have been a VIKINGS fan ever since I was old enough to scream GO VIKS GO I bleed purple but yet I have to put up with are 6-0 starts to messing it all up in december. We have improved are defence this offseason and that has been are week point for years so my question is do you guys think we have a shot at the super bowl this year.[/b] _________________ thank u game cocks for troy williamson |

| For sure. We will win at least 11 games, and if we can beat the Eagles (who are overrated), yeah. |

| Definetly. I thought the Vikings even had an outside chance last year and all we did was improve. |

We have a dammed good chance, so long as we dont go up with the pats in the superbowl(Sorry guys, I would have to cheer for my birth team then), then we have a dammed good shot at winning _________________

I wont make such a prediction until we go through the draft.
But, assuming we were to start the season with the team right now with no draft, we probably wouldnt have a chance. Even though our division wil probably suck, we'll still end up splitting with the Bears like always, possibly splitting or losing both to the Lions, and same with the Packers.
Culpepper has yet to prove he can carry the team down the stetch without Moss. Tice's play calling is atroucious at times. If he doesnt commit to the running most games, we will not finish these season even at 8-8, and Culpepper will have one of those 20 TD 25 INT seasons.
Now drafting Williams would have a dramatic effect on this team. _________________ Equal Opportunity Hater

I stongly disagree. First do you remember the Lion game when Daunte called the offense together and they came from behind to win? Second, tice does NOT call the plays, remember the moss int against the seahawks and tice saying that linahan calls the plays and he does not override him. And he said that Loney will probably call the plays next year. Also, with the lack of running game. Before last year Linahan said that he wanted to run the ball close to 10% more of the time. That was the reason they did not run alot, not tice's fault. And that will probably not be the case, because Loney said that he would run teh ball more. Also the vikings will get back their lead blocker in Klinesauser, who was greatly missed (although wiggions was a great reciever, he is a poor blocker), and Rosenthal. I see no reason culpepper will have a 20 td 25 int type year, there are no signs that he will do it. Yes moss is gone, but in the games he was gone, culpepper throw less int's than the games he was in. Also, with the defense better, he will not have to, or feel he has to win the games for them, so he will not force has many passes.
Although it is early, i feel if the Vikings did not win 10 games, it would be a very disapointing year, unless they suffer tons of injuries (ie pepper) _________________ Williams, Smoot, Harris, Taylor, Shaper, Cowart... the signs of a new divsion champion |

they're a lock for my NFC pick. It really depends on how the draft goes, if we can get another good looking WR, and if the Eagles (or some AFC team) can do something to improve themselves. _________________ UtBDan:

you know what our weakest link is right now? coaching. with all these veterans coming in from different teams, the viking team (at least the defense) doesn't have its cohesiveness yet. they don't know who to rely on when.
coaches bring that together and our coaches are...? |
