Philly lineman Derrick Burgess, this guy signs a cap-friendly offer with the Raiders . . .he is exactly what we need, an experienced 3-4 lineman with skillz . . .man, Salvage, I would have liked to see us make a run at him as well . . .but . . . . c'est la vie

Fisk is just fine. Both are depth guys. I would like to see what kind of money Hovan is looking for, he would be a excellent fit.

Burgess is a starter, Fisk is a depth guy, and Hovan probably didnt ask for too much.

hey clevdog, we just got rid of a injury prone player. I know alot about burgess (he's an sec guy) he is undersized and suffered two consecutive years marred by season-ending injuries, Burgess was the starter at RE for 10 or 11 games this season before suffering a sternal separation vs. GB (12/5). Was inactive for for the rest of the year. He did have a good playoff run had like 3 sacks but he's easy to run against at only 260ish. I saw him listed once at 273 but seeing him upclose he might be 265. He would be a decent pass rush specialist but he's not a true "starter" he was starting by default.

okay, thanks for clearing that up. But dont you think he would have added some quality 3-4 experience to our line?

yeah i do. he's a nice player. The longer we ignore both a playmaker at wr or rb im really starting to think we are going to take a offensive player at 3, either williams, edwards or maybe brown if he's there.

I would rather have Marques Douglas the Derrick Burgess.

Douglas is bigger and probably a better fit due to his past with Phil.

I don't think we missed too much letting Burgess sign elsewhere.

OK Considering I watch every Philadelphia game....Oakland just screwed themselves again. They gave Burrgess a contract based on his playoffs. That dude is never healthy and I dont know where you get he has 3-4 experience. Unless he did in college and I know for a fact Philly doesn't run a 3-4. He would be a nice pass rusher and that's it. He will probably Courtney Brown all over again and be hurt so I wouldnt miss this guy to much

I was at the game actually, had amazing seats...was wearing my McNabb jersey and walking through the parking lot across the street where all the tailgaters are I got random ice cubes, nachos thrown at me and a "ASSSSSSSHOLE" chant through the whole parking lot LOL it was fun though, I find it interesting though when I told a whole group of Browns fans at the game

"Hey, How does it feel to watch other teams play in January???"

That shut'em pretty quick Laughing

But im still a Browns fan only reason im not a diehard Browns fan is I wanted them to take McNabb back in 99 and they didnt. I didnt have a team at the time but I decided whereever McNabb went I went, and I've been a fan ever since.

I was born outside of Philly, so I have a soft spot for the Eagles and Phillies.

Cunningham was pretty fun to watch when he was there, and Buddy Ryan coached up the D to be as tough as the city itself.

We really missed the boat with McNabb. I know, a lot of people think we would have ruined him too, but not me. All those times Timmy got piledriven, Donovan could have scrambled for 5-10yds. And with his college go-to guy in Kevin Johnson, I think he would have been a lot more comfortable earlier than he was in Philly.

I'm working on a time machine, so I can go back and be the Browns' GM instead of Dwight Clark. Better yet, I'd just go back to 1994, sit on Modell's head and fart until he sold the team to Al Lerner instead of moving it.

LOL!

Yeah its a proven fact the Ravens first round picks since they came in 1996 or all with the team still (besides Duane Starks and Travis Taylor who just left) The rest of there first picks are still on the roster..

Ray Lewis
Chris McAlister
Jamal Lewis
Ed Reed
Jon Ogden
Kyle Boller
Terrell Suggs and more

The Eagles firsts since 99
McNabb
McDougle
Andrews
Simon
Fred-Ex
Lito Sheppard

The draft gets you places and look what Savage did with the Ravens. Whoever he drafts will be the right person but also if he does miss dont kill him for it...We have 7 picks or so....Maybe one is a bust but the rest will be the players we need.
