| Quote: | Die-hard Star Wars fans soon can see the original theatrical versions of the first three Star Wars films on DVD.
Even though George Lucas adamantly declared 2004's digitally restored Star Wars Trilogy DVDs the definitive versions of his movies, fans have held out hope for DVDs of the originals.
Their wishes will be granted Sept. 12 when Fox releases new two-disc DVDs ($30 each) of Star Wars (since retitled as Episode IV: A New Hope), The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi that include the films as they first appeared in theaters, along with the new, restored versions (now available in the four-disc $70 Star Wars Trilogy).

I'm not a huge Star Wars fan, but I liked the original versions of these films much better than the "souped up" re-releases... I'm glad to see Lucas's greed for his fans' money overrode his convictions about the original versions. _________________

| Well I already bought the souped up trilogy on DVD and I own the theatrical versions on VHS so I don't have much interest in buying the trilogy a third time. |

So i assume these new versions won't include such things as young anakin as a teen replacing the original darth vador.
I know that to die hards like me that was tough to take. Probably sucked for the original actor too since that pretty much eliminated his whole face from the movie. _________________

if it's one thing I've learned is that once they have the millions and billions they always want more - it becomes a custom to live the life style, $10,000 for dinner every night - a new $80,000 car every year - a mansion in every country _________________
