There were 17 TE's taken in the draft.

3 teams even took 2 of them (St.L, NE, and TB)

We had a shot at 16 of them

We got none

The draft is over.........Checkmate

We loose

Bottom line, our worst position last year, tight end. What we did to improve it during the draft, nothing. That is just outright stupidity. Angelo made the comment we haven't had a good one since Ditka, and still ignored it totally. It is painful to witness especially since this was the most rich tight end draft I can possibly remember.

The richest TE draft allowed us to get a top ten TE prospect without a pick. Granted, I would think we could have had Runnels or the Penn St. G undrafted too. But I think Day will stick with the team. Even if he doesn't, Angelo has said he'll keep an eye on the cut lists following camps. It won't take much (even a cut from another team) to improve on our TE's. If there's improvement, what's the issue? Either way, we will use 3WR more than any other passing set, so sit back and enjoy Muhammad/Bradley/Berrian/Currie (not Gage).

top 10 doesn't equal solid. There are serious questions about Tim Day, questions that aren't looming around at least 5 or 6 other tight ends we could have taken in the draft.
