Exactly. Metal, in general, sucks | see that is IMO a cop-out, I don't like most rap but I never say it sucks, what don't you like about it? Have you even sat down and listened to it? to come on here just to say it sucks is just like going into another thread and just posting

Good song, but my favorite has to be Lateralus, another title track. That track pretty much exemplifies everything I like best about tool - deep introspective lyrics, epic length (9:24!), excellent percussion by Danny Carey, multiple catches and riffs, slow buildups and a chorus that blows you away.
I saw them in concert and they ended it with Lateralus... probably one of the most amazing live performances I've ever seen, and I've seen my share. _________________

I just don't like any of it. Much too chaotic for my liking. And Chris, I don't like Country either. _________________

Nah. I'm not really a fan of any particular genre, but when I hear something I like I say it. I guess to give you an idea of what I like, my two absolute favorite bands ever are U2 and Chicago _________________

All the stuff with the Fibonacci Sequence (Maynard's vocals) and the references to the never-ending spiral by making triangles with the sequence and stuff "We'll ride the spiral to the end/ May just go where no one's been/ Spiral out/ Keep, going") in Lateralus...It's insane. I can't believe how much attention to detail they pay.
I love TOOL. _________________

I bought the cd Tuesday and I love it.
I just realized that the glasses on the front of the case are for viewing the pics on the inside in 3D. I had to read the warning to realize that. lol
Anyone care to explain Viginti Tres (#11) to me??? _________________

exactly - just because a person doesn't like something does not mean it sucks - millions around the world love it and that would indicate that there is a bit of ignorance in that statement - no one has to like every style of music but you have to let it exist with out prejudices. music ia a launguage and art form not everone likes the same fruit on the wall _________________

The album came out over here on Friday and I've given it a few listens. It's a very good album but it doesn't reach the heights of either Lateralus or Aenima. Wings for Marie and 10,000 Days are among the best songs Tool have ever written with Vicarious, The Pot and Right In Two also having their moments.
While I like the album a lot, it doesn't progress too much from the sound of Lateralus and, to me at least, a lot of these songs sound as though they were leftovers from the sessions of the above album. Perhaps I expected more after a 5 year hiatus. _________________
