I want some info on how the Green Bay Defense will do next year. Most people say that we could not handle the deep ball, but I just believe it was poor tackling. If Coach Bates could get the team to make their own tackles we could be real good. We have good players everywhere
D-Line (KBG,Grady Jackson, and I believe Donnel Washington is good if not hurt)
Linebacker(Nick Barnett, N. Diggs.)
Cornerback( Al Harris, Ahmad Carrol( no more penalties), and Joey Thomas)
S Darren Sharper
All we need is better tackling mostly |

I count 3 good players, KGB, Barrnett and maybe Harris.............
No matter what system you bring in your D is going to be very very bad and thats not cause Im a Bear fan its a fact.
You need at least 4 more good players before you can even become good, the Pack is rebuilding and things are going to be very rough for awhile guys, my prayers are with ya.
Bears 10-6
Lions 8-8
Packers 7-9
Viukings 6-10 _________________ http://www.sportsattic.com/nflphoto/photos10/Payton,Walter36.jpg |

I think our defense will be a lot better next year then it was this year.

Ha Thats funny because I count three on your D as well Urlacher, Adewale, and Brown. I hate to break it to you but the bears will not win the division for a long time and will never have a better record then the packers.
Next years division records
Packers- 12-4
Lions- 9-7
Vikings- 8-8
Bears- 8-8 |

| The only reason that the Packers did not kill the Bears for the Billionth straight time is because, for once again mistakes. Think of it Payton fan, Rex Grossman has been average at best, Muhammad had a one year wonder and who is ther HB. Walker is coming of a huge year, and Ahmad Carrol and Joey Thomas are finally not rookies anymore with this year. |

| Mush Muhammed ha a freak year. I've had him on fantasy teams for the last 3-4 years and he's about good for 5 td's on average and with Rex throwing to him, he'll be back down to that. |

| Getting back to the Packer Defense topic, I think that the Packers aren't that far off. The problem is that too many of the players are out of position. KGB is a pass rush specialist and he is on the field for the majority of the snaps. Kampman is high effort guy that needs to be put in for spots not majority again. Barnett is a weakside LB and Diggs is a strongside LB. Harris is a #2 CB not a #1 and Carroll should be a nickel back for a year or so until he can get rid of the grabbing, not be on the field for 17 penalties in 3/4 a season. And then they need to decide what kind of safeties they want - in the box, ball hawking, big hitting, etc. Also, what is the Packers philosophy the last couple years? Zone, man-to-man, blitz, contain, conservative...what? I don't think they have had a philosophy. Bates will bring a clear and distinct system to the team. That should help. The question is, how should they correct these problems? Free Agency or Draft They need a DE, MLB, and FS for sure. Sign the best overall player at any of those three positions and draft the other two. |

I think its just too hard to predict how anyone's going to do in today's NFL. But as far as the Pack goes, even harder at this moment:
Will Favre retire (I'd be surprised)?
Will the loss of Wahle and Riveria be as devastating as everyone predicts or will what we have left still be equal to 75% of the other offensive lines out there?
What impact will Bates have (he could have a tremendous impact on young players like Carroll and Thomas or he could be another Gunther Cunningham in KC)?
Who will we draft (defense, qb, etc.)?
Where will we draft (look at the Bills last year making the moves to jump ahead of us and grab Losman who - I believe - we were considering if not going to take)?
How good will the Bears be (I betcha better than the Lions and the Vikings as I think Lovie is the real deal whereas Tice is coaching on borrowed time and the Mooch, well, he's the Mooch)?
Who knows?
As I said before, everyone thought the Chargers were going to be the dregs of the NFL last year and what did we learn?
Go Pack Go!!!! |

I hope we keep him. He brings vetran leadership to the secondary and is probably our best defensive player, besides Barnett. _________________

Apparently the Viking fans that are hanging around in here are A) 12 years old, and B) loaded with mis-information. |
