| I know that the NFL is basically a bunch of copiers, but I really hope that the Browns ditch the attempt at a West Coast Offense. I really haven't seen this offense that effective except by San Francisco. I know that it was not the offense that has been used by any of the recent Super Bowl champions. I just don't think it has been a good fit for our personnel and hopefully it will be shelved for good by the new coaching staff. |

| Tampa had no offense when they won the SuperBowl, just like Baltimore. |

| They both won in spite of their offenses. Although I don't think either of them ran a true west coast (short ball control passing) offenses. |

The type of offense we are going to run is not the West Coast. More like East Coast.
Ball control offense, I think it is called. It's the same offense Parcells has used since his days with the Giants. It is the same offense used for all of Romeo's five rings (2 w/Giants, 3 w/Pats), so it has a much better pedigree than the West Coast. |

Do you realize the first person to ever run the short passing game was Paul Brown? Bill Walsh learned this system from him.... Bill Walsh is the constructor of the West Coast Offense.... Paul Brown = BROWNS.
i dont know where we got away from this, i just thought it was interesting that the so called "West Coast" Offense was implemented in Cleveland. _________________ i <4 phil savage |

| I said no before because I don't think either of those teams ran a ball control passing offense which is how I define the west coast defense. |

Raiders made it to the super bowl w/ a west coast offense.
Tampa has had success.
However, the WCO only works if you have the right personnel. It takes time to get all that personnel. I'm not for or against it in Cleveland. East or West Coast works fine w/ me. Just as long as it isn't Fun'n'Gun. That won't fly in lake-effect weather here. _________________ The Brownie: The best logo for the Cleveland Browns, EVER! |

| The Browns need to run the Ball Control offense. Get a solid running game, have two good change of pace backs... Have a bunch of good hogs up front to block. And develop the play action pass to Kellen Winslow. Spend 40 mins on offense wear that defense down and get them tired. That is exactly how you need to run this offense. |

Couldn't agree more.
Did you see the press conference with KW2? Romeo knows he's got something special. Expect to see a lot of balls coming his way.*
