I love it, but late word is that your Raiders are going to move up to #3 and take Leinart. I expect the Raiders to pull this off more for business reasons...Leinart is a huge ticket-draw and - from what I hear - the Raiders are having trouble selling out games. From the football end, it makes really good sense b/c Leinart is the next Stabler IMO. I think Leinart on the Raiders would work out really well for both parties. Plus, when the Raiders move back to LA they will be guaranteed sellouts. _________________ Looking forward to the groceries The Tuna is buying for Miami. |

Perfect.

Winston is better than McNeill.
| Quote: | | 35. NYJ HB Brian Calhoun Wisconsin |
Addai is better than Calhoun, but since we already filled our "franchise QB" hole, we can leave HB for next year. I'd take Kiwi here and try him out at OLB, because he reminds me a lot of Willie McGinest.
| Quote: | | 71. NYJ OLB Mark Anderson Alabama |
Anderson is good, but I prefer McClover. If we went with Kiwi at #35 then I would take Charles Spencer here.
| Quote: | | 97. NYJ C/OG Jason Spitz - Louisville |
Good pick, unless we take Spencer at #71, in which case I would love Martin Nance here.
So, the ideal Jets draft with the players you have available at our picks...
4. QB Matt Leinart - USC
29. OT Eric Winston - Miami (FL)
35. DE/OLB Mathias Kiwanuka - Boston College
71. OG Charles Spencer - Pittsburgh
97. WR Martin Nance - Miami (OH) |

More detailed commentary on your mock:
Interesting points: SF taking Vernon Davis over AJ Hawk; you put Cutler back in the top 12 which is a good call - it seems he's not going to fall far; Ernie Sims at 10 is kind of high...I wonder if the Cards would really do that (you know I love Sims...I'm just wondering if they love him enough)
The Browns taking Wimbley over Ngata I find surprising...you could argue tha tthey can pick up a DT in the 2nd/3rd if they really want one...that's probably my first area where I would really disagree.
Agree on Holmes b/f Jackson and I agree MIA would take Jackson.
Manny at 22 seems to be extremely popular these days...i don't disagree
Moss to NYG at 25 was thrown out by Kiper today...I like it; it makes sense...the Giants will try hard to give Eli more weapons
I'm way down on the JAX pick...I think Ryans is a 2nd rounder...I like JAX taking Addai there
Interesting that you have McCargo sneaking in the 1st...crazy stuff always happens at the bottom of the 1st and I'm trying to go outside of the box in that area.
Carpenter slipping out of the 1st round is surprising. Not sure I like that but I understand why you have JAX taking Ryans over Carpenter as Ryans is better fit for JAX defense.
I wonder if ARI would pass on Marcedes Lewis in the 2nd round.
Interesting that you have Maurice Drew not making it in day 1...wouldn't surprise me, but i think it would be a mistake.
Overall, great effort as always. _________________ Looking forward to the groceries The Tuna is buying for Miami. |

Grea job, overall.
McCargo is way too high. I really hope the Bucs don't do that. I understand he's rising at the moment, but that's a little high, and it's not that high of a need for TB.
Great pick with Ryans/JAX. He is not a 2nd rounder. If he falls, it will be the steal of the Draft. What is so wrong with this guy, that everyone doubts him so much?
Love the Williams pick for TB... _________________ LE#16

Doubt the Vikes take Croyle in the 2nd. Davin Joseph would be a better pick and then address QB in the third with Clemens. _________________

I like Webb but I doubt his character is going to be tolerated by McKay. I think McKay woudl get Oshinowo here.

first off, thanks for all the feedback.
To adress a few points you made,
first off I dont think Oak is at all interested in Leinart and I think if he makes it no 7 they will pass on him for a defender. I think the only QB they want is Vince. Leinart does not have the great physical tools the Raiders regularly salivate over and the biggest weakness in his game is that he doesnt have good arm strength and doesn't throw a great deep ball and it doesn't make sense to bring him in to an offense that is obviously vertical with Randy. Also, I think Vince would do a lot more to help ticket sales than Leinart, but as far as the ticket sales situation, I think its hopeless. People in Oakland just dont have enough money in general. The As have one of the top teams in rcent years and they still don't sell tickets.
As for McCargo, I think he's a perfect fit for the TB scheme and I dont see any other players that are a great fit for TB in the first round that are likely to be there at 23 so I think they might look to trade down and get McCargo.
JAX was a tough pick but I though Ryans was a good fit for their D and they really need to take an OLB in the 1st.
As far as Ngata to CLE, I dont see it happening. I think Crennel is going to be looking for a NT with good quickness and dsiruption in the mold of Vince Wilfork rather than a clogger like Ngata.
I think the 49ers have their minds set on VD after they traded up for the 22nd so they can get an impact defender.probly an OLB, I think if they dont take Lawson the pick will be Carpenter)
And I heard the Cards like Sims and IMO that's def not too high for Sims, he is a guy that is kind of easy to fall in love with.
Also, I do have Maurice Drew going at the end of the 2nd round to the Colts.
Thanks again for all the feedback and this friday Ill be submitting the draft into your contest. _________________

I think its a good mock draft he did 3 rounds which is very impressive.
I'm a skins fan, and i'm embarrassed that we only have 1 first day pick. I like the McCintosh pick and I hope we get him or Abdul Hodge or a CB if we don't get a LB or CB i'm going to be upset because last year we took a bunch of players late in the draft who didn't even make the team, and we traded away this whole draft to get Campbel last year, who probably won't see the field till Gibbs is no longer coaching. _________________ Die hard skins fan...no matter how many hairs go gray! |

Don't see the Jets passing on Carpenter twice, he's perfect for the 3-4 and a steal at 29 or 35. Also, I'd prefer Winston over McNeil. _________________ "The young heart attack, I spit that cardiac."
