I've spent the better part of the last year trying to find out if I'm related to Henry J. Killilea.

"Who the hell is that?" you ask.

Well, Henry J. Killilea was a guy who helpd found the American League. However, more than that, he bought the Boston Red Sox in 1903 and founded the World Series, which his team also won. Before the 1904 season started, he sold the team to John Taylor, publisher of the Boston Globe.

Essentially, the entire exercise in genealogy has been to justify my being able to make the statement "when my family owned the Red Sox, all we did was win the World Series". Yes, it makes me sound like I'm 12, but I don't care. It's bragging rights about something.

Is that a joke?

My cousin is one of the top basketball recruits in Houston as a sophomore. He's had scouts come out to his games. Does that count for anything?

My grandpa's cousin's son really is Robert Esche Texansfan23. I'm not even joking. I've been to his house in central NY and I have pix taken with him and stuff signed by him.
