This was started in the New England Patriots forum and felt it should be passed on.
--------------------
1. One mock draft per member
2. The final mock needs to be posted by Friday 4/28 at 8:00 pm
3. You don't need to explain the pick when you make your mock
4. The mock needs to be 7 rounds
5. You can post your mock, but then edit it, all the way up to the deadline
6. No projecting trades, if we end up trading and select someone totally different its simply just wrong, thats what the position marker is for

Point system
If you get the player right - 10 points
If you get the position right - 5 points
If you have a player going in round 1 but he goes in round 2 (ect) - 2 points

Here is an example of how it will go..

Round 1 - Michael Huff - DB - Texas
and the actual pick is ..... Chad Jackson - WR - Florida ... you get 0 points.
Or the pick could be Huff, you would get 15 points.

Another example..

Round 2 - Jason Avant - WR - Michigan
and the actual pick is .... Jason Avant, you get a total of 15 points because you had both the player and the position you think they will go.

Some people could say, well if you picked them to pick Huff why put a different position next to it. Well, it's an easier way for you to get points, you know Millen we could all think it's Huff but then he'll go and pick a WR.

Below only post your mocks and you can update them up to April 28th at 8:00 pm.

the winner gets bragging rights

I believe that the scoring system bases the position on what position the Lions pick. For example:

Round 1, pick 9: AJ Hawk - LB - OSU
Actual pick - Chad Greenway - LB - Iowa

You get 5 points based on the correct position filled by the team, but it's the wrong player, so you don't get the 10 points. In your mock, since the player you selected is a defensive back, you shouldn't get points for saying WR as well.

I mean, you can obviously do it any way you want, but it doesn't make sense to guess a player and a random position.

Good point, I didn't change the scoring system from the Patriots forum but I'll do it now.

Here you guys go now Im basing this on probablity and team need rather than just who i want them to get:
9. Winston Justice OT USC (Hopefully will be a hard worker and take the job serious because this guy is a gem)
40. Mercedes Lewis TE UCLA (Lions need a future tight end and this is they guy that should go in the first round but falls to the Lions)
74. Pat Watkins FS FSU (Most athletic player in the draft besides Vernon Davis and will compete for the starting job)
141. Anwar Phillips CB Penn State (Great defender and would be a steal here)
179. Anthony Schlegel MLB Ohio St. (Should be able to play MLB very well and played along with two of the nations best linebackers)
217: Skyler Green WR LSU (Lions have the 7th round pick and decide that they need to get a WR and Green is a steal in the 7th)
247. Josh Huston K, Ohio St. (The Lions have this extra pick and decide to spend it on Josh Huston because he is a good kicker)

The Lions make a great draft and get some good players.
Immediate Needs: OT, FS, CB, MLB Future Needs: TE and K
