The transition to the new Footballsfuture.com forums will begin on Saturday, Aug 12th. When the transition is complete your current password will not work. All active members will be emailed a new temporary password sometime between August 12th and August 14th. Please make sure the email in your profile is an active email account so you can receive your new temporary password. If you don't have access to this password, you will be locked out of the forum.

FAQ

Why can't I login to the new forum yet?
Your current password will not work on the new forum. The only way to access the forum before the transition is complete is to sign up for beta access.

How do I update my email on here?
Click on the profile link at the top of any forum page. When you update your email on your profile, your FF account is deactivated until you confirm the new email account. Make sure you enter your email address correctly and check your spam folder if you can't find the reactivation email.

Will I lose my post count?
No. All post counts will transfer over.

What about all the posts on this forum?
We are not transferring over all the posts, only active members. This forum will turn into a read-only archive after the transition. All posts will still be accessible.

Will banned members be allowed back on?
No. All permanently banned accounts are being transferred over and the bans will still be in effect. Any banned member registering a new username will get banned again.

I want to change my username, should I just register a new name?
You should go through the transition first. All members who transition over will receive veteran status on the new forum and will have more privileges then new members. If possible, I may allow a one-time name change without the need to re-register a new account. Also, new registrations will be disabled during the transition. Registering a new name will delay your ability to post on the new forum.

How do I access the new forum?
This forum will not magically turn into the new forum. This old forum will remain in place and be a read-only archive of all the old posts for the last 10+ years. There will be links on every page to the new forum, but you should update your bookmarks to the new forum address. The new address is https://forums.footballsfuture.com.

As long as members follow directions they won't get left behind. For the inactive members who try to login after the transition I will have instructions to recover their usernames on the new forum. Sending me an email will NOT be the way it is done. I have no way to verify accounts over email.

When the beta ends, do us beta testers get locked out of the new format between the 1st and the 12th?

No. Everyone with an account on the new forum can keep using it.

I encourage everyone to sign up for the beta so they can have early access to the new forum.

What exactly does "active" member mean? I haven't posted a lot on here for quite some time, but I still come to the forum and read stuff all the time... and am going to start posting on here a lot more frequently... so will I be sent a new temporary password, or have I not been active enough?

Webby can verify, but I think the word active is being used pretty generously. You should be good.

The next group of beta invites were sent out.

If you signed up for beta and can't access the new forum go here:

Do not sign up for the beta multiple times.

If you've visited the forum with in the last couple years you'll be fine. I'm just not going to go back and import a member who posted one time, 10 years ago.

Sorry for the confusion, but do I have to change my current email, address or the password?

I was just on the profile and I couldn't find anything that said "active".

I'm not sure if I'm misunderstanding how this works but I'm still not seeing anything new.

Active just means an email you still use and have access to.

Click on the profile. Is the email address displayed one you sill use and have access to? If the answer is yes. Do nothing. If the answer is no. Update it to your current active email account.

When you update your email on your profile, your FF account is deactivated until you confirm the new email account. An email is sent to you to reactive your account. Make sure you enter your email address correctly and check your spam folder if you can't find the reactivation email.

Do not edit your password. A new password will be sent to you for the updated forum.

Here is the new forum.

https://forums.footballsfuture.com

Right now you can't log into the new forum. If you would like to try it out you need to sign up for the beta access. Around August 12th you will be emailed a new password for that forum. This current forum will then be turned into a read-only archive of old posts. All members will be moving over to the new forum.
