I mean it's a solid get for the Chargers and makes sense for both teams.

It does? This time last year Buffalo fans were hoping Cardale could put pressure on Tyrod to start this season. Conditional 7th is giving him away for a bag of peanuts.

Yeah and the guys who drafted him were all fired, New Regimes means new QBs. To the new regime Cardale wasn't that valuable since they drafted their own project QB.

His former QBs coach (Anthony Lynn) is now HC for the chargers, so it makes sense to trade him, From a value standpoint trading a mid 4th round player in his 2nd year for a 7th is a loss but he was going to get cut anyway.

Lynn was the RB coach not the QB coach, but he did coach in buffalo as the OC and interm HC, so he saw plenty of Jones last year.

But what it comes down to, was that Cardale was probably getting cut with him being a miserable fit with the new coaching scheme, as well as the new coaches reportedly LOVING what they saw from Nathan Peterman (and him being much better suited for Dennison's offense.

While Cardale still has huge upside, everyone in the league knew that he wasn't the right fit under Dennison so they could get him for cheap, Lynn made a play for him, and I think it's a really good fit for a potential understudy for Rivers.
