http://www.espn.com/nba/story/_/id/20124505/kyrie-irving-seeking-trade-cleveland-cavaliers

Quote:
Kyrie Irving is ready to end his run with the Cleveland Cavaliers, as league sources told ESPN that the guard has asked the team to trade him.

The request came last week and was made to Cavaliers owner Dan Gilbert. Irving has expressed that he wants to play in a situation where he can be more of a focal point and that he no longer wants to play alongside LeBron James, sources said.

This has already been discussed for pages in the general thread. Doesn't need it's own thread UNTIL Kyrie actually gets traded, imo

This news is huge. If this doesn't warrant it's own thread, what does?

Completely agreed. This deserves it's own thread. People don't want to have to scroll back to the middle of a random thread to read about this.

Kyrie never liked playing for the Cavs. That's been evident since he's been drafted there. He could try spinning it by saying that he doesn't want to play with LeBron, which is probably true with his foot already out there, but at the end of the day, Cleveland is still Cleveland. NBA stars don't want to play there

Also Webby likes more thread. It helps create more traffic.

The issue was someone not creating a thread when it first happen

This news is about Kyrie, but it's really about LeBron. The uncertainty about his long term commitment to the team he's playing for has negative ramifications on others around him, and he couldn't care less lol There's never been another player like him both on and off the court

I mean, if you guys would all stop being so slow and come sign up for the beta testing on the new forum:

You'd see we're miles ahead in terms of already having a new topic for this. Razz

I'll sign up if everyone here signs up. The basketball forum is the only thing keeping me on the current site at the moment.

We already have some of the cool kids over there, just need to get some of the stragglers on board.

Come join us, BG.

Why didn't he request this trade before the draft? Timing is awful.

Honestly, not sure. The beta testing is up to Webby's discretion. He's only selecting a handful of folks at the moment. The new forum should be made available to everyone in a few short weeks, at the latest.

According to Joe Vardon that's exactly what he did. He was hoping to be dealt to the Bulls to play with Butler.

Regardless if Kyrie likes playing with LeBron or not, it isn't the worse of ideas to try to get moved before LeBron leaves next year anyways. He's seen how LeBron operates twice now and he's not wanting to get played like his former teams/teammates have been played.
