Saw an article on ESPN and here's the list:

Tom Brady - 17 states

Massachusetts
Maine
Vermont
New Hampshire
Rhode Island
Connecticut
Virginia
Maryland
Florida
Kentucky
Louisiana
Alabama
Illinois
Missouri
Nebraska
Montana
Arkansas

Marshawn Lynch - 14 states

California
Oregon
Washington
Utah
Arizona
New Mexico
Idaho
Nevada
South Dakota
Kansas
Alaska
Hawaii
Iowa
Indiana

Julio Jones - 1 state

Georgia

Dak Prescott - 3 states

Texas
Oklahoma
Mississippi

Ezekiel Elliott - 1 state

West Virginia

DeShaun Watson - 2 states

North Carolina
South Carolina

Adrian Peterson (Saints jersey) - 1 state

Minnesota (wut?)

Aaron Rodgers - 1 state

Wisconsin

Matthew Stafford - 1 state

Michigan

Adam Thielen - 1 state

North Dakota (wut? He has no connection to North Dakota as far as I know)

Von Miller - 2 states

Colorado
Wyoming

Carson Wentz - 1 state

Delaware

Greg Olsen - 1 state

Ohio (this is super random.. Olsen has no connection to Ohio as far as I know)

James Conner - 1 state

Pennsylvania

Odell Beckam Jr. - 2 states

New York
New Jersey

Marcus Mariota - 1 state

Tennessee

Few surprises:

- I knew Brady would be #1 but 17 states is quite a lot
- I figured Lynch would be the top selling jersey in California, Nevada, Oregon, and Washington but 14 states is impressive. He's way more popular than I thought.
- Greg Olsen in Ohio is random, I don't get the connection.
- Don't get the Elliott and West Virginia connection.
- Minnesota is buying AP's Saint jersey like crazy...? Is there more AP fans than Viking fans?
- I thought Aaron Rodgers would have more than 1 state but I guess he's not insanely popular among very casual NFL fans.

Everything else makes sense.

Not sure if its true, but I read that James Conner trails only Tom Brady in overall jersey sales. Weird...if true.

According to NFLShop.com here are the Top 25 Overall:

1) Marshawn Lynch
2) Tom Brady
3) Dak Prescott
4) Ezekiel Elliott
5) DeShaun Watson
6) Derek Carr
7) Odell Beckam Jr.
8) Carson Wentz
9) Julio Jones
10) Rob Gronkowski
11) James Conner
12) Aaron Rodgers
13) Matthew Stafford
14) Antonio Brown
15) Khalil Mack
16) Julian Edelmen
17) Colin Kaepernick
18) Von Miller
19) Matt Ryan
20) Dez Bryant
21) Russell Wilson
22) Jason Witten
23) Cam Newton
24) Drew Brees
25) Adrian Peterson

Well controversy sells.. Kaepernick sure kept himself relevant.

Makes sense Lynch is 1. Brady had a ton of small states and Lynch had California. Feels like the election..

If you were surprised by that:

In February Brady was #1 in all 50 states!

Despite no connection to the state (from a quick Google check, so this could be wrong!), he has more jerseys sold there than Carson Wentz, an NFL starting QB who went to North Dakota State. Madness.

Yea this list is wrong. I dont have any evidence to back that up at all--but I have lived in 3 major cities in Ohio and have never seen a single Greg Olsen jersey in my life. He went to HS in New Jersey, college in Florida and Pro in Chicago and Carolina.

There is no possible way Greg Olsen has more jersey sales in Ohio than Myles Garrett, Joe Haden, Jabril Peppers, Joe Thomas, AJ Green, John Ross or Andy Dalton.

No, just no. False

Yeah, because NFLShop.com and ESPN have something to gain by lying about jersey sales..

That's just covers DlCK's, not overall jersey sales.

I doubt anyone is making it up and it may very well be accurate.

There is a caveat though, whether it is bulk purchasing for resale which just so happens to be credited to a particular state or something else there is something besides residents of the states being tallied here.

As a WV resident there is no way Zeke would lead. WVU fans hate tOSU for the most part and 90% are Steeler fans. Olsen for Ohio is also wrong if it is just fans purchasing, it makes no sense.

WV has a lot of terrible people who make terrible decisions like being Cowboys fans. A lot of them because they really buy into the manly rural tough guy image that comes with the name "cowboy" and a lot of them just to spite the Steelers fans during the 70s/90s. Also a lot of the out of state pipeline contractors came from Texas.

I know of two Cowboy fans and neither fit the description. One is a police sergeant and the other is a war vet and motorcycle mechanic. My guess would be 90% of WV is Steeler country, 5% Browns and 5% other. No way is a Cowboy Jersey #1 in sales. I live in northern WV so it's probably more like 95% Steeler fans but I've been down south and they seem to have the stronhgest following (the Reds for baseball for some reason).

I doubt the out of state pipeline guys are buying jerseys I think they spend all of their money on prostitution.
