Option A
HC: Bill Belichick
OC: Josh McDaniels
QB: Tom Brady
RB: LaDainian Tomlinson
WR: Randy Moss
WR: Antonio Brown
WR: Wes Welker
TE: Rob Gronkowski
Assume an offensive line on par with the recent Dallas Cowboys line except with a better RT.

Option B
HC: Bill Walsh
OC: Mike Shanahan
QB: Joe Montana
RB: Terrell Davis
WR: Jerry Rice
WR: Terrell Owens
WR: Julio Jones
TE: Tony Gonzalez
Assume an offensive line on par with the late 90's Denver Broncos line.

Option C
HC: Jimmy Johnson
OC: Norv Turner
QB: Peyton Manning
RB: Emmitt Smith
WR: Calvin Johnson
WR: Michael Irvin
WR: Marvin Harrison
TE: Jason Witten
Assume an offensive line on par with the great wall of Dallas.

For this thread I went with people who were known to have success together, success with people who ran the same scheme and/or alternatively, the best options I could think of. I see all three offenses as talented to the point of not being fair, so choosing between them should be exceptionally difficult. Even if you think someone like Emmitt was a product of the offense, he's essentially in that offense so that's not a particularly good reason to choose against him. On the other hand, I think Tomlinson was the perfect running back for the Patriots offense and I never see him put there in these kinds of "which offense would you pick" threads.

Option A is in another universe (relative to the other hair-splitting that we do when comparing all-time greats vs all time greats).

I will be the homer that goes with B, with the lone Bronco in the mix.

I will be the homer that goes with B, with the lone Bronco player and former coach in the mix. I know, it is in bad taste to do so.

Personally:

HC: A
OC: B
QB: A
RB: A
WR: B
TE: A

So I'll go with A.

B, because Shanahan coached teams have had a ton of success against Belichick teams. Wink

Got no idea how you give A and C OCs like McDaniels and Turner then go and give B one of the best OCs ever. McDaniels and Turner can't even hold Shanahan's jock strap.

That being said A's talent will carry McDaniels much like Brady already does.

Norv Turner's was Jimmy Johnson's offensive coordiator for two Superbowls.
Josh McDaniels has been Bill Belichick's offensive coordinator from 2006-2008 and from 2012 on.
Mike Shanahan wasn't an offensive coordinator for Walsh, but he was for George Seifert, so I considered him to be part of the same coaching tree.

I went with Option B, close between them and Option A, though.

1. B

2. C
3. A.

B has worst QB but best OL, best player, and best system.

Anyone who picks B or C is wrong, simply put. One of, if not the most, obvious decisions on this forum.
