Here's a question, if.you were a up and coming talent at shooting guard who would you rather have as your backcourt point guard Kyrie Irving or Russell Westbrook?

I'd love to have him. But I've talked myself into bender. He's got a rare skill set for his height. If he can become a better shot blocker he could be one of the rare unicorns. I'd like to see him take more bigs off the dribble. They can't keep up with him and he has the ability to do it.

I'm hoping they ask for Chriss based on his athletic upside but Bender will be the better all around player. They don't have much use for Warren. Taking back a contract like Shump or Frye could save Cleveland up to 20m in Luxury Tax savings from that I hear.

Who is this Tony Rizzo guy?

Is this one supposed to be hard? Easily the MVP.

Irving or Westbrook? I'd go with Westbrook 10 times out of 10.

Easily. Westbrook is on another tier. Irving is closer to Kemba Walker territory.

Hell, I would take Lillard over Irving and Lillard isn't that close to Westbrook.

Me too. Don't get me wrong Irving's a good player and all but he's not someone I'd want running my offense from point guard. He'd be a good add to a few teams though.

Speaking of that, we are in August now, it may still be early, but anyone have any playoff team predictions?

I have Cleveland, washington, Boston, Toronto, Milwaukee, Miami, Charlotte and Philadelphia in the East

In the west it's Golden State, oklahoma city, Houston, San Antonio, Memphis, Minnesota, Denver, New Orleans

I think that Portland is likely to be better than Memphis, Denver, NO and Minnesota if Nurkic keeps up his late season play. He improved their defense by 9.5 points per 100 possessions. That's insane. And offensively if he can even make minor improvements over the 30mpg, 15ppg, 10rpg, 3apg, 2bpg that he put up in his 20 games w/ PDX then the team should really be good.

If that 20 games was a mirage, then PDX will be fighting for the 8th seed. But Nurkic was a legitimate 3rd offensive option and a defensive anchor, and if he really is that good for 82 games the Blazers will be a legitimate 2nd tier force in the West.

What's PDX?

Call sign for Portland airport. Common abbreviation. Like LAX.
