Eric Decker was at the top of his game in 2015 before missing much of 2016 after hip and shoulder injuries landed him on season-ending injured reserve. In 2015, his sixth NFL season, the receiver ranked third among his peers in quarterback passer rating when targeted, per Pro Football Focus.

Decker attended Rocori High School in Cold Spring, Minnesota. He was present in school when the Rocori High School shooting took place, hiding in a cupboard with other students until they were rescued by police officers. At school he was a three-sport athlete in football, basketball, and baseball. In each sport he was awarded all-conference, all-area and all-section honors. Additionally, he was named football team MVP two years in a row. During his prep football career he had 2,156 receiving yards and 28 touchdowns.

Decker attended the University of Minnesota. Decker finished his junior season in 2008 with 84 catches for 1,074 yards and seven touchdowns. He either sat out or played with leg injuries in several games. Decker began the 2009 season with the consistent play that had been a hallmark of his Gophers' career. Through three games, Decker was sixth in the nation in receiving yards, averaging 124.8 per game. Sports Illustrated columnist Stewart Mandel declared Decker the third-best wide receiver in college football, behind Oklahoma State's Dez Bryant and Georgia's A. J. Green. On October 27, 2009, it was announced that Decker would miss the rest of the season after suffering a sprained foot against Ohio State. Decker was also teammates with Minnesota Vikings cornerback Marcus Sherels.

Decker played outfield for the Minnesota baseball team. He was selected in the 39th round of the 2008 Major League Baseball Draft by the Milwaukee Brewers and the 27th round of the 2009 Major League Baseball Draft by the Minnesota Twins.

If they feel they need to move on from Floyd, sure. But if they decide to keep Floyd around, it'd be pointless.

I think Decker is a better WR anyway, and you can cut Floyd with no penalty.

Agreed. Its more of a money issue/contract term issue than a roster one.

Tbh tho would we really bother talking about this if Decker wasn't from MN?

He has averaged over 1000 yards per season for the last 4 seasons, except for last year when he was on IR pretty much all year. Very good WR.

Yeah very good, so how much is he going to cost? Would he really sign only a one year deal? Doubt it

If they sign him to a multi year contract you're kaputing the ability to extend a younger player, presumably Diggs.

I wonder how much say Hottie McWifey (Jesse James) is going to have in where they move.

Worried about his injury history but I'd take him.

It's Floyd's alcohol problem vs. Decker's injuries last year

Well the team has to work him out and would certainly have all relevant information about his injury history on hand.

Whoever signs him will have done their homework as its the logical thing to do.

He's the perfect candidate for a one-year deal. Coming off a lost season due to injury, what team is going to want to sign him to a big money, multi-year deal without seeing if he's got anything left? He's going to want to sign a one-year deal to show he's still got gas in the tank, and then he'll try to cash in next off-season. This isn't a Maclin situation where he played in 12 or 13 games last year. He only played in 3 and then had multiple surgeries. He's not a prime candidate for big money, long-term deal.

so he left the Titans without a contract, anyone know their WR depth situation? because apparently he has a house in Nashville and his wife's career is centered there (and in LA), so it is probably his first choice.

more likely to take a hometown discount there, then with us, i'd say.

Well they just drafted a WR in the Top 5. And they moved up in the 3rd to draft another WR, Taywan Taylor.

Rishard Matthews was the top WR last year. While not a household name, he did finish with over 900 yards and 9 TDs.
