Yup! Dude just could never figure it out. I don't think it was anything but him. Hopefully he does well in Detroit

I'm glad we got something for him. Gives Brown more reps with the 1s now which is a plus.

Cap relief and a draft pick. Good trade for us, he obviously had fallen out of favor with Kroger and McVay.

What kind of cap relief will we see from this?

$3.3 millio, his signing bonus hits us but Detroit pays his 2017 salary.

Its a bummer. I know people are happy he's gone, but I was hopeful for him to pan out from day 1. But I trust McVay and Kromer. I think its never been a matter of talent/potential, but his issue has always been effort or "give a s**t".

1st ever interview he did after he got drafted, he just left the stage and was either interviewing with Deion or Suzy, can't remember which station i was watching..."Saaaaint Loouis, Imma give it 100"....I turned to my buddy and said "holy fudge, this kids mentally retarded, he's gonna be a bust."

Was a cool guy in person. Met him and Tre Mason at the casino years ago.

Never thought it would've ended like this at the time.

Pretty much. If a guy can spend a good chunk of an offseason working with LeCharles Bentley at one of the premier OL academies and still shows the same flaws and not tangible improvement on the field... it's on the guy.

Even if he might have developed into a decent guard - and given his lack of effort, that's a big "if" - I'd say getting this kind of mentality and mindset out of the locker room and practice field is more beneficial for a new coaching staff than getting a decent guard.

That's a double-edged sword to be honest. Does it help the development of Goff? Most definitely - and that's probably what's most important. But the thing to also consider is: Does it help the development of Goff that much more than Kupp (one of the highest floor WR prospects in this class) to justify delaying Kupp's development?

The two players are fairly redundant of one another. And while McVay runs a heavy majority of 3-WR sets, no matter how much some may want them to, they're not just going to scrap heap Tavon, because - unlike G-Rob - he actually does put in heavy effort and we're stuck paying him fat for at least this season.

My bet is Decker doesn't rush this decision (he just got medically cleared anyway, putting in a little extra recovery time isn't going to hurt him or his value), and possibly waits to see if OTA's or early training camps claim any of the WR1's around the league with a major injury.
