#Lions have been in the market for a tackle. Now they get Greg Robinson from the #Rams. It's for a 2018 6th rounder, as @AdamSchefter said

Detroit needed another OT with injury to Taylor Decker and Rams were using OT Jamin Brown ahead of Greg Robinson. Thus, a trade.

Lots of action for the Lions.

Robinson was a bust at #2 overall. Got beat out in OTA's for RT. I'm not a fan of dumping him for a 6th rounder when we could have turned him into a G. My guess is he could be a starter in this league at G, but not tackle. Nice move by Detroit though.

Decent moves here for the Lions it looks like, we'll see how it all plays out.

I was a huge fan of Robinson as a prospect. At the very least, I thought he could have been a very good guard.

I was a fan of his as well coming out. At this point though, he looks more like an extra linemen that comes in during run blocking situations. Not sure if I trust him for anything more...

Still happy the Rams picked him over Matthews. I mean Matthews hasn't been an all pro but he has been very serviceable so far.

here's to hoping Detroit keeps Robinson at Tackle so he never pans out. Wink

guessing they're not too confident Taylor Decker will be back very quickly.

4-6 months has been the timetable floating around among local media.

Detroit is also working out 2nd year OL Joe Dahl at OT which IMO is the better position for him than the G position they tried to play him at last season.

Even if Dahl or Kouandijo get the starting position, Robinson for a 6th is not a bad depth move at the very least.

heard that. with these moves, I'm thinking Detroit is set on a 6 month recovery over a 4 month.

agreed.

Good God, I remember when Greg Robinson was The Expected One, the Ultimate Offensive Tackle for the new millenium; a bigger, stronger Orlando Pace whose crushing blocks would drive the Rams to the Super Bowl, even before they acquired Jared Goff!

From a bust in the Hall of Fame to Just Plain Bust, God bless you, please, Greg Robinson, Heaven holds a place for those who pray, hey hey hey.

That last part was my first thought. Depth/competition on the line is always good. These are low cost moves so even if they both flop it doesn't hinder us long term.

Sorry Detroit. He was one of the worst linemen I watched play for the rams.

The Lions want all the bust OTs.

All your busted OTs are belonging to the Lions.

Honestly I think Kouandijo is more likely to have a positive impact. He played well last season when given a chance at LT. He had some weird thing with the police this offseason but I was still surprised he got cut, definitely a decent backup option at LT. His knees are messed up so he can't play RT near as well so it hurts his versatility but he should still be a good pick up.
