Maclin got 2 years 11 mil, 6 mil gtd.

Assuming Decker would fetch something slightly less? Maybe 2/9?

Yep. With what Adams showed last year and Nelson coming back looking fantastic, Decker has no place in QB. I like him as a player but there just is no fit here. Maybe if Adams didn't take that year 3 leap and maybe if Nelson was way more sluggish returning from injury.

5-wide with Nelson + Decker + Adams + Cobb + Martellus (inline).

Sick.

But you're completely right.

Depends on the price tag. I'd rather trot out Decker than Davis/Dupree/Janis/etc. if the price tag was around 3-4 million. He's been a great, durable player and I think people are underselling just how productive he's been the past half decade. Averaged 1000 yards and double digit touchdowns the past 4 years, and was well on his way this past season before getting hurt early. If you can add that player at a good price, it'd be foolish not to.

I'd assume more. Maclin has been pitiful the past few seasons.

Edit: Apparently it was just last season. I'd venture to guess the price is about the same.

People aren't underestimating his past production, its the future production that concerns most fans.

He's 30 years old and just came off of hip surgery. That's kind of a big deal for an older WR.
Then when he healed enough from the hip surgery, they completed the shoulder surgery. That's what gives people pause, as well it should.

Just doesn't make any sense here...

You aren't going to take any of Nelson, Adams, Cobb, or Bennett off the field to give him snaps. He'd only be getting the reps that generally go to players we want to develop.

Well your argument changed quickly.

And the discussion, in theory, wasn't to sign him. It was where he would line in the "depth chart" sort of thing. Though I think it was an very ingenious way to inject a "should we sign" discussion in without saying it.

It's pretty flipping boring right now. I was down for a random arse discussion.

Same reasons they let him go are the same reasons we aren't interested. Cost/Age/Injury.

I'm bored too. Let's find something stupid to argue over.

Agreed. At the same time, if we had a "hole" at WR, he could help. We just don't. They're just a young team tanking for the future. Decker can help someone right now, I think all of us agree on that though.

I've been meaning to bring this up jokingly, but I realized a while back we moved on from Goode, it seems. Ted gotta save that 150k of cap room. Is long snapper dumb enough for you? haha

Well, he could pass as a Canadian and does have quarterback size...

I actually signed him in a mock last year year before davante pulled the biggest 180 I've possibly ever seen. But no, Rodgers seems to have tons of confidence in Davante which means he'll get targets. Marty would likely be ahead of Decker as well.

I wouldn't want him here because we are fine at WR right now. But he's a really good player and yes, I think he would be WR2 on this roster.
