I don't necessarily anticipate a 'step back'

I just think it's near impossible for him to only throw 4 picks again. Last year he had 2 or 3 would be picks (49ers/Packers game) that were dropped. He was extremely efficient along with damn lucky. That's not exactly a sustainable trait.

I do see his interception total(4) increasing; possibly into double digits. However I see his passing TD total(23) going up as well. Maybe to the mid 30's with some luck.

His passing yards I see hovering around the same. You look at '14 Romo who had 3,705 passing yards and Dak last year who had 3,667 passing yards, thats about where we want our QB to be in this run first scheme. Dak won't be a 5,000 yard passer next year because he plays for the Cowboys not the Saints.

But is 3,781 yards 32 TDs and 10 picks(and another 6 rushing TDs like last year) a step back? Sure he threw more than 4 picks. All the Top 3 QBs next year will too. Romo tossed 9 in 2014.

If he can keep the pass yards consistent, and up his passing TD total to the low thirtys, I'll consider that a huge step forward. If he keeps his INT total to 12 and under.

I'll go 346/512 (67.5%), 4050 yards, 29 TD's, 11 INT

390 rushing yards, 7 rushing TD's

Ok, I pretty much think the same as DaBoys. . .

But that would be boring to repost, so for the sake of entertainment, I will project based on Dak and our presumably improved offense alone, no outside historical stats to keep things grounded. That will allow me to just assume he will get better and our offense will get better, because rookies have a year of experience; I think (healthy*) Dez will be a 1,200 yd 12 TD+ WR this year; Beasley+Switzer combo high completion rate; and Rico new Redzone-specialist monster.

Dak:

36 TDs 7 INTs - - - 3,850 yds - - - 72% Comp Rate Cool

7 Rushing TDs 2 Fumbles - - - 1 Receiving TD (Russell Wilson style)

Dak Posts best ever single-season completion percentage. A focus on short, ball control passes going through the Beasley + Switzer combo, and more passes to Zeke allow for such a high completion percentage.

I see his INT's going up along with his TD's and passing yards. A bit of good and bad.

But I will make a prediction right now. He throws 2-3 INT's in the first game and all anyone will be talking about is:

"He threw almost as many INT's in 1 game as he did all of last season. Is this a sign of a sophomore slump?"

Call me a pessimist, but I can just hear it now. It ALWAYS seems to go this way.
