I have been saying this for almost a year and it finally happened: Alex Carter has switched from CB to S. His evolution and his attributes are eerily reminiscent of another former CB on the roster, Glover Quinn. I am really excited to see how he performs after the position switch. He is smart, runs good and is built like a prototypical FS. With Glover Quinn getting up there in age it would be huge for the Lions if Alex Carter develops into his replacement. Thoughts?

I hope it works out for him.

Same here. I'd love to have a seamless transition at FS when Glover Quin moves on.

I think they should do the same with Diggs. I think he would have a chance to really thrive in that roll.

I mean, it's worth a shot at this point. He's not making the team as a CB. It's either try to thrive as a S or get cut.

I think Diggs is perfect where he's at. He fits into the CB lineup perfectly. Carter was part of a crowded unit. He needed a position switch.

This is just over hype to me. I think this is just him making a last ditch effort to make the team at a position where his coverage might standout. If Glover Quinn did go down it'd be tough for Lions to replace his coverage skills, I think they'll convert Johnson Bademosi to a back up FS. The real battle for the last spot at S to me is between Don Carey and Johnson Bademosi.

Carey and Bademosi should both make the team for their play on special teams. What position they technically play on defense isn't a big deal, they're here to give us one of the better ST units in the league.
