Taylor Moton handled Daeshon Hall pretty easily in rookie minicamp.

CMC made everyone look stupid. Samuel had some drops but was super fast.

About everything I gleaned from reading the reports/seeing videos.

He's referring to the woman beating scumbags known as Joe Mixon and Dede Westbrook.

Marcus Williams, S, Utah was the star in the Saints rookie mini-camp. The Saints usually telegraph who they know will be good. Michael Thomas got hype all the way through the process last year.

All the Saints rookies were healthy participants, and were in shape which is always nice to see.

You are never, ever going to hear a coaching staff complain about draft picks in training camp, they are protecting their GM who made the picks, unless they want to be looking for a new job. You will only know for sure how the rookies are performing on opening day, when you can see for yourself, how much playing time they are receiving. Until then, it is all hype in order to sell tickets.

I do agree with this somewhat, but there are things that I look for. Personally, it's a concern for me when the staff talks more about the intangibles or off the field stuff for a player more so than the on field stuff during these things. Secondarily, while I agree that it's unlikely that the staff would say bad things about a player that they just draft at this point, I think that there are times when you can put a little stock in it. I mean, there is no need for the 49ers to talk up Matt Breida at this point unless he was actually doing well in the mini camp. They have a guy that they actually drafted at the same position, so for them to talk up the UDFA over the guy they drafted may mean a little something.

But in the end, I would also take these things with a grain of salt. This is just a rookie mini camp...something to keep us busy during the slow season Laughing

Mr. Biscuit impressed during rookie minicamp. The oc talked about them trying to make him uncomfortable throwing a large install at him.

Adam Shaheen was very impressive stepping up against tougher competition catching everything and showing all the athletic traits that got him drafted early.

Tarik cohen caught some eyes with his change of direction abilities

Lastly Tanner Gentry udfa from wyoming was definitely the best receiver at rookie minicamp

Nothing is certain, but Williams is someone I really liked and assumed would ball out, just like Thomas last year. Not surprised at all.

I was wondering if Gentry caught on anywhere. I watched a lot of Josh Allen tape last year, and he was a big piece of that. Was pretty impressive at times. Seemed to have very good hands.

I thought Marcus Williams was as good if not better than Malik Hooker as a single high free safety. I had no idea why he went so much lower in the draft. He had similar production and did it in for more years. Plus he tested well at the combine and seems good off the field.

I think he ultimately will be right there with Marcus Maye and Jamal Adams as the top safety in this class.

There's some value. You see who is in shape, who at least tried to learn the playbook and terminology, who tends to be in the right place on defense, and who shows good hands.

I say the main purpose of rookie mini-camp is to give reporters something to file worthless copy on, but there are always a few rookies that cause coaches and GM's to look each other and whistle happily. They see "how they move", and that seems to have good predictive value.
