He failed his physical. Such a deep draft for TEs and they don't even pick up one knowing that Green's health was a liability. Confused

Hopefully James can take that next step in his development and become another Heath Miller. He showed signs of it last season.

Wow. Well at least we don't have to speculate on that anymore.

A fourth round TE would be looking good right about now. smh

With all the quality TEs we passed on in the draft I am furious. I really question the competence of our front office.

I don't fully get this. It's not like our offense is hurting for talent with receiving options. James is more well rounded anyway.

Green would have helped, but I don't think this necessarily hurts. James is a solid starter on this team (that is not me saying he is all pro- that's me saying he doesn't need to be impact in the passing game.).

We didn't NEED an impact tight end, but sure it doesn't hurt. Even if we cut green prior to the draft, I don't think it makes a huge difference in our decision making.

Our depth is laughable after James IMO and he is mediocre at best. Kittle, Butts, and Legget are 3rd round talents any other year. They are all capable of starting in the NFL. This is a big miss.

Agreed.

This team is 1 injury away from starting a glorified OT or a guy with a handful of catches in his career in Johnson or Grimble.

I'd be on the phone with Gary Barnridges agent yesterday.

He can't block and has questionable hands. His athleticism and potential are the only thing keeping him on the roster .

No, but he could catch and was more than potential. You can't compare the two tight ends. Talent wise they are on different levels

don't need him to block? Situational TE for receiving purposes? Also Grimble's hands and athleticism are his strengths. Don't know where you get he can't catch from. Like said Green couldn't block

HOw would you all rate Jesse James? Is he close to being an adequate starter?

I would say he is an adequate starter. Bottom third of the league
