Man, what a disappointment he was. Concussions really did a number on him.

When he was healthy for those few games he made an impact. I was very surprised that the Steelers didn't draft a TE when it was such a deep class knowing Green's injury history. This just adds to how disappointed I was with their draft.

He was just signed last offseason, right? I don't remember the details of the contract.... how much dead money will they be eating?

There's still 3.5M+ of bonus money they will take a 2017 cap hit for, but no more base salary is guaranteed. He basically got 6M guaranteed upfront in a low 1.25M 2016 base and 4.75M bonus, so the rest of the bonus $ is now due. I'm also surprised the Steelers didn't go TE in the draft if they knew this was coming.

Steelers had to know this was coming, he had 4 concussions before he left San Diego. The last one included an overnight stay in an Oakland hospital because the docs didn't want him flying after the game.

I'm guessing nobody is going to take a risk on him, and this'll be it for his football career, huh?

I don't see why a team wouldn't give him a 1-year vet minimum deal, unless I'm missing something?

Browns jumped right in front of them to take Njoku; have to wonder if the Steelers would have taken them. I personally think TJ Watt was a better pickup and it made more sense to target defense, but who knows what their board was like.

Apparently he's not cleared yet from last year's concussion. That's a huge red flag with his repeat history.

To bad to see this for Green. He turns 27 next week so you would hope his career's not over this early. Best wishes to him at this time.
