Old thread is old, so I'm starting a new one. I know we have a few Suns fans here so that should be enough to keep this going.

So the lottery was not kind to the Suns. Not only did we fall 2 spots, the effing Lakers got to move up to #2 and keep their pick.

As of right now, we have for next year...

PG Bledsoe | Ulis
SG Booker | Knight | Barbosa | Millsap
SF Warren | Jones Jr
PF Chriss | Bender | Dudley
C Chandler

Our biggest need is clearly a center for the future, Alex Len is a RFA and if some team pays him we shouldn't match. He just hasn't been good enough in his time here, and from where we stand right now isn't worth big money. Of course I fully expect him to go to San Antonio or something and light it up.

Our 2nd biggest need is a wing. This is where we are IMO likely to go in the draft, with either SF/SG Josh Jackson out of Kansas, or SF Jayson Tatum out of Duke. One of them will be available at our pick, and personally I hope it's Jackson.

Not sure what we do with #32, but hopefully there's a C with some potential available there. Jarrett Allen from Texas would be nice, but I'm not sure he's there in the 2nd round.

Either way, it's a huge off season for us. You would also like to find a way to get rid of Brandon Knight without attaching too much draft compensation to him. He wasn't a good fit for us as a 6th man last year, and then refused to play later in the year when we asked him to.

Interested in seeing how the draft and entire off season comes together.

I have no clue at this point. McD has his hands full but in a good way...

Positives:
- franchise player and future star in Booker
- athletic specimen in Chriss and youngest player in the league last year
- TJ Warren averaged 18/8 on great efficiency after the Tucker trade
- Ulis, Jones Jr and Bender all have potential
- Bledsoe has positive trade value
- Chandler and Dudley have two years left at manageable salary
- multiple first rd picks in the upcoming years (19'/21' Heat picks are unprotected)

Then you have Knight and Len which they'll likely ship around or just let Len go. Strong center class next year.

Brandon Ingram is actually younger.

Than Bender? I'm pretty sure those are two different statements.

I hope Jackson is there at 4. If not I want Isaac more than anybody else. We need a defensive wing with potential. Plus Bender and Isaac more be awesome together.

I assumed he was talking about Chriss, since nothing implied he was referring to Bender. Bender is younger than Ingram though.

the 'youngest player in the league' part was the reference to Bender Wink

I was talking about Chriss. Thought he was the youngest player in the league but got him mixed up with Bender. All three are younger than Josh Jackson though. Laughing

I think the nice part is we have 9 of our rotation players for next year + whoever we draft at #4.

Bledsoe
Booker
Warren
Chriss
Chandler

Ulis
Barbosa
??? (#4 overall pick)
Dudley
Bender

???
Millsap/???
Jones Jr
???
??? (Alan Williams?)

Now obviously Bender isn't a true C, but I think he can play there in stretches. I'm looking at playing position-less basketball. Also if we do take Jackson/Tatum/Isaac, they would fit right in.

The Heat pick is 2018 (top 7 protected). 2021 is unprotected. It's definitely possible they'll keep that 2018 pick, but if I had to bet we get a late lottery pick from them next year.

I'd do anything to get rid of Knight.

Len is a RFA and if someone offers him over $5 mil/year, I wouldn't match. Now if he wants to come back on a nice 3 year, $15 million or so deal? Sure why not.

This isn't gonna happen, but what kind of offer would you give the Knicks for Kristaps Porzingis? While neither he nor Chriss is a true C, if you somehow kept Marquese I believe both could play there throughout a game. Kristaps is a good rim protector with his length, and Chriss has the potential to be with his elite athleticism.

#4 overall pick, 2018 MIA 1st round pick, Dragan Bender, Tyler Ulis, Derrick Jones Jr. Too little?

And I love Dragan and don't want to trade him, but just spitballing here. I saw this on twitter somewhere.

Kristaps would be a great fit with Booker, skillset wise and timeline wise as they're both 20/21 years old.

Way to little. No way you get Kristaps without giving up Chriss.

Probably looking at Chriss, #4, 2018 MIA 1st and 2019 Suns unprotected. Just to get talks rolling.

Well it's officially the offseason.

Time to go make [inappropriate/removed] happen, McD.

My dream order would be 1) Josh Jackson 2) Jonathan Isaac 3) Fox but honestly if Fox was the only option available at that point I'd try to trade down. I don't want Tatum, I just don't see that much upside where he's going to be a top 10 guy at the position. I really like Isaac personally but he's more a project.

Who do you guys think is most realistic and/or best pick for the team?
