Should have taken care of this Megatron situation back in 2007 and drafted BPA vs. a codeine sipping unmotivated fat sack.

If Megatron's itch to play isn't quite gone, he could unretire and the Lions would be on the hook for his $21-million cap hit in 2017. Detroit has just under $6 million in space (according to Over The Cap), meaning the team would likely have to either release or trade him.

Excellent point. I hadn't thought of it that way. I want this so badly haha.

What's everyone's realistic expectation of Lynch?

I think I'll go with a cautiously optimistic expectation at this point.

I see him taking the bulk of short yardage and goalline runs so I don't think his average will be especially eye opening and of course he'll be rested at times for Richard and Washington so I see him as having between 15 and 20 total touches a game. Given that he'll be used in short yardage similarly to Murray last year I expect similar stats though maybe slightly better as he's more of a tackle breaking back.

Murray had 195 attempts for 788 yards with a 4.0 avg and 12 TDs rushing

I would expect Lynch to slightly better those numbers, maybe:

210 attempts (he may miss a game or two with nagging injuries)
880 yards rushing
12 rushing TDs

Maybe around 30 catches for 250 yards and the odd TD too.

I expect Richard and Washington to slightly improve their numbers too

That's pretty close to what I expect as well. I have a feeling that a lot of people will question his usage early on as I see us managing his reps during the beginning of the season.

Raiders will release OL Austin Howard... Made 39 starts along the Raiders offensive line the last three years

No surprise, sounds like we are creating roster and salary cap space?

Yup. Could we be making a surprise move?

Howard saved us 3.6mil.

We don't know whether this is just due to the fact that we have a bunch of young guys in the oline room we like or we are clearing space for a reason.

If there is a specific reason for Howard's release, additional guys that could be cut to provide the most space are Penn 7mil, Hudson 7mil, Nelson 4.75mil, Jano 4mil and L.Smith 3mil. I doubt we let any of them go at this point tho.

I predicted he was gone, makes to much money, he has been injured for awhile, signed a guy who had a decent season last year for cheaper, and we have Alexander who showed lots of promise, and we drafted guys we like alot.

Many predicted this going back to last offseason and then again when it was revealed he had a torn shoulder and had surgery this spring.

Well, looks like Penn knows when to use his leverage haha...sigh...god******!

Ian Rapoport‏Verified account @RapSheet

Uh oh: #Raiders standout LT Donald Penn is not reporting for training camp, source said. He's unhappy with his contract.

Bold prediction lol.... everyone knew he was gone. He's a fringe roster player, carrying a large salary and has been dinged up. This was a formality really.
