I haven't read much on Jackson, outside of the fact that he's at the camp. Is he able to do full participation?

Notes from Jeremy Stoltz:

Trubisky still has a long way to go under center (obviously) and looked good out of the shot gun,

Trubisky connected on his first 7 passes during 7 on 7

Shaheen looked good and he and Trubisky connected well on all levels of the defense and have good chemistry already

Cohen looks exremely elusive and explosive and made multiple people whiff through out the day

Morgan worked at LG only

Gentry was by far the best WR on the field.

Quote:
The rookie tight end is officially listed on the Bears roster at 6-foot-6 and 277 pounds. So naturally, hes going to stick out in a crowd based on his size alone. But on Friday, Shaheen also exhibited the agility and route quickness that convinced the Bears to use a second-round pick on him last month.

Seems like all the early returns on Mitch Trubisky's first day of practice were good. A few snap issues but was 19-21 in 7-7 via @BradBiggs

Quote:
The rest of the 70-minute session was smooth, with the exception of a pass over the middle that was picked off by Trevin Wade, a five-year NFL veteran in on a tryout basis. Trubisky cut the ball loose with a nice spiral, the kind of release that will aid him on windy afternoons at Soldier Field, and looked sure of himself at the line of scrimmage, at one point ordering the offense to huddle up again.

Quote:
On Trubisky's second-to-last pass, he threw a laser to the left side that tight end Adam Shaheen, the second-round pick, dived for and caught. It was a sight Bears fans can get accustomed to seeing. Earlier in seven-on-seven work Trubisky connected with Sheehan deep down the right sideline. There was one snap in seven-on-seven when he had to throw the ball away after holding it too long. Other than the pick and the throwaway, there were only two other incompletions in 21 passes in team and seven-on-seven drills.

I try to shy away from promoting them, since they charge membership for content, but they do put out some good free articles, like the above breaking down today's action.

Of note:

-Shaheen was basically uncoverable (albeit he's against UDFA level secondary)

-Cohen is still breaking defender ankles... and was kick returning

-Gentry was apparently the best WR on the field.

Day 1 went exactly as youd expect. An enormous media gathering showed up at Halas Hall including ESPN and the NFL Network to watch the quarterback throw to receivers hes never seen before. With zero pass rush and no pads on, Trubisky lived up to the scouting report. His footwork was good, his accuracy was on point and his lack of comfort under center was evident.

Adam Shaheen sure looks the part. Hes huge. Natural pass-catcher. TE coach Frank Smith told me he "flashes as a high-potential player."

John Fox: Tarik Cohen has 10 hands. Sounds illegal, but he was referring to the RBs 10 1/8-inch hands, which are enormous for a 5-6 guy.

WR Tanner Gentry played w/ QB Josh Allen, a 1st rd talent, at Wyoming. "Out here with Mitch today, there were a lot of similarities."

Dont sleep on Tanner Gentry. Bigger than I thought he was. Good catch radius and athletic. Wont pile up big YAC, but can be a reliable WR.
