A third round pick for the Colts in 2013, Thornton started 32 games for the Colts but was sidelined last year. He signed with the Falcons just this offseason, but I guess ultimately decided to hang up his cleats.

Can't blame the guy for putting his health over football. Good luck to him.

No hate, I am not sure I'd make a different move. I do think this is where you see the difference between guys who really like football and guys who LOVE football

To bad to see him retire. Still yeah long term health is more important than playing football so I can see why Thornton did this.

He started for two straight seasons and is young. No matter how you were as a starter that means you're at least backup quality somewhere

He is now a Falcon legend along with Lance Moore. The contributions they made to the team are 2nd to none and i will always remember them.
