Superior to Vic Beasley?

No way!

Marquis Haynes is my guy. If he can weigh around 240 near the combine, then I see him as a Day 2 pick. Haynes is probably the most explosive beat you around the corner pass rusher in this class.

Dude (Haynes) has pop in his legs, and knows how to run the hoop and get to the QB, but what else does he offer a defense besides that? Looks like Tim Williams to me

I like Haynes, but he's not an edge player. He's like 220 soaking wet. Plus he has no power to his rush game. He's built like a 4-3 WLB and that's where I think he's going to play...there or 4-3 SLB. And isn't he kind of short? Seems like he doesn't have the length to dominate with his hand down.

Quote:
LSU DC Dave Aranda said that the coaching staff will try to clarify the playing future of junior edge rusher Arden Key when they meet next week.
"Arden's looking good. We get back together next week with a full staff. ... I anticipate at that time that we'll hear about Arden's direction and where he's going and whether he'll be with us or not," Aranda said. He added, "I'm very hopeful he will be." The 6-foot-6, 255-pounder -- a potential top-10 pick next spring -- left the team for personal reasons in mid-February. He tweeted in late April that he had no plans of sitting out the 2017 season and his father indicated that his absence is not due to injury. "I think we have a defense with Arden and a defense without Arden. There's two very separate entities there," Aranda said. "I'm pulling for the one with."

So odd.

I think he ends up in the 1st round. Hasn't shown it quite yet, but he has excellent physical traits and those kinds of ht/wt/spd freaks on the edge don't last very long. He needs to clean up his technique and add more playing strength, but I think he's going to break out this year and end up going in the teens.

Lewis 4.64.

If you saw Hooker's time you'd take that with a grain of salt...

Second round talent, but we will have to see more in his final season before labeling him.

I think Dorance Armstrong will end up the #1 DE/OLB, and he's not getting nearly enough love (because Kansas), but Justin Lawler is another player who should be mentioned more often. From a production standpoint, he's like a Porter Gustin who makes more plays in the backfield. He's very active, and he's been consistent at SMU. Joe Ostman and Hercules Mata'afa deserve more love, too.

I came here to post about Dorance Armstrong. I like him a lot.
