I understand we took James Conner in the draft, and I realize Williams is getting older but was there an obvious slow down that I missed?

Are some of his off field antics/opinions not to the Steelers liking.

He's not even mentioned in regards to free agency for anyone.

Maybe they just wanted to get younger...

Hahahahaha.

Jones' only chance is to go to Tenn. Otherwise he is flipping burgers this fall.

I said it since the season ended that we shouldve signed DWill to a one year deal and then draft a RB late, as opposed to doing something stupid like drafting a late round talent in the 3rd round to back up a RB who we hardly ever take off the field. Twisted Evil

D Will has missed significant playing time the last two years.

1) Injuries are starting to slow him down

2) Can't have your backup running back be old/injury prone when he is supposed to be your "Insurance plan." Lets say Bell gets hurt week 2, do you really expect D Will to hold up as the feature back for 17 more games?

And the overlooked #3:

What if we can't sign Bell long term?

Don't see that as an option and I don't think the Steelers will either.

I don't, they might not but it can't 100% be guaranteed to happen. So having someone in house that you can trust is needed.

Williams was available to play as i recalldown the stretch they just didnt play him. Guy always showed up, never didnt.

Anyways i understand the wanting to get younger as a policy but id be open tohim as a 1year insurance policy.

Going back to watch Conners 2014 highlights there is a significant difference in his foot quickness and burst than there was to last season. Makes you wonder what part of that is due to the knee injury and what part due to his return from Cancer. There was a different amount/level of energy for sure.

What part of that can he recapture with more time to heal and strengthen the knee and what can he get back from just being closer to normal. From my own experiences with devasatating health episodes it is difficult to ever regain levels of energy you once had. He is young so it is a lot different but anything like thatfor sure ages you.

late round according to who you? And that would be why you do whatever you do in the day time. Numbers speak for themselves

34 year old RB with an injury history coming off a season where he needed knee surgery.

Exactly. Thank you for your common sense! Can everyone move on from this now?

No one is saying we shouldve just settled for DWill....but if it was between a) keeping Dwill another year and drafting a RB late OR b) Knile Davis and reaching on a late round talent in the 3rd, Ill take option A every damn time.
