Kind of like what Palmy said about Kofi to a degree, yeah?

I suppose like your next para it goes both ways. Ya might take a bigger project, biggest risk off the numbers. Then sometimes ya go, okay numbers we don't love, but the kid can play and we think he's safe. It sounds obvious when you break it down like that, but I'd betcha it goes both ways and I would say SPARQ stuff play that out. Kind of like on Biegel.

He seems to have an affinity for small school guys more than the average, but I don't think we saw it this year anyways right? IDK.

I know one thing, I don't think he's a robot like others. It all seems so obvious......after the fact.

Yeah, clearly need to do some comparisons to other NFL teams to make any sort of judgement.

To me, a few picks specifically stand out:
1) Dean Lowry
2) Aaron Jones
3) Jason Spriggs
4) Kofi Amichia

These are all picks at non-need positions, picks that weren't expected, and in Spriggs' case he even traded up to grab. Spriggs was definitely a quality prospect and on the radar as a target in the 2nd, but the trade up for a non-need position makes me flag that one as well.

That's a good idea. It's just the leg work. I was just talking about the perspective for this stuff is a pain to get at.

Gonna nitpick, but I would say after R5, need or no need stops to matter a lot I would guess.

I think the Spiggs pick was not out of immediate need, but for a potential need in 1 year. Bahk was a pending FA after 2016 and Bulaga had not played well with his injuries the previous few years.

The need was a high quality insurance policy at OT for GB. In hindsight, that pick looks like less of a need, but at the time, the need was there.

Totally agree squire, it looks like a non need now. At the time, I swear half this forum was cool with Bak walking and thought he'd get overpaid.

Am I not remembering that right?

And BB has obviously been hurt a ton on top, almost forgot about that.

Exactly like I said, I busted out laughing, I was like why did someone make a new thread for this, then saw what happened.

Either it was a mod, or it was me. Must've been that one hilarious mod.

Spriggs was the highest SPARQ player at O-line that was drafted in 2016, the higher ones went undrafted.

Lowry was behind only Nkemdiche and Rankins by my measure.

Can you even edit titles after? I don't know that I have EVER made a thread here lol And I do it a lot somewhere else. You guys make me feel self conscious that my ideas will suck.

I created a monster by raising it.

2006 - AJ Hawk #47
2009 - Clay Matthews #47
2015 - Jake Ryan #47
2017 - Vince Biegel #47

Not sure if there were any between Clay and Jake. Note Jake and AJ were both OLB > ILB converts with plus athleticism also. AJ was pretty athletic before the injuries, not sure his instincts were better for an ILB, wouldve been a better 4-3 OLB probably.

Forget something close to this one I think, stopped going on there half a year ago when everybody claimed they didn't want TT to let Heyward walk.

Anywho before the title gets changed again. It is nice to see this team getting faster for sure. I know a lot of Packer fans are sick of the slow players. I know you need a few of them and you cannot have everything but I cannot wait to see this defense in a year or two.

let's also not forget guys like Ty Montgomery, Jeff Janis are super SPARQy.

TT/ GB do value Athleticism more than most teams but I believe they also value production.

Post more, we need more smart people. Just embrace the downvotes man.
