What if Watt and Foster bust? And King is All Pro?

We can play what ifs all day. If my aunt had balls she'd be my uncle.

Bottom line is Green Bay had 4-5 players with equal grades on their board and made a great trade. Still got our guy, a guy it's now come out Seattle among other wanted badly.

I'd rather pass on TJ Watt for Kevin King and Vince Biegel...

I really like what we did with this draft. We could've gotten an extra pass rusher, but you're really splitting hairs as to who you would have taken and where you would've taken them. Vince Bagel Cream Cheese could make us forget about not taking another rusher...

That was a shrewd move to land the extra pick, which turned into Vince Biegel. A lot of people wanted us to take Rueben Foster, but it's rumored that he might need shoulder surgery before the season. I think that guy is just beat up .. lots of wear and tear. Landing King is going to prove out to be a strong addition. Love the idea of QB's having to throw over a 6'-3" athlete out there. I'm sure these deal will always be linked with TJ Watt, but I'll take the two for one any day.

I'll take the picks 33 and 108 versus 29. On the point value chart TT "won" by 50 points, or so I remember. I'll take that. Especially in this draft.

I think that's where the question needs to be asked. Is T.J. Watt a tier ahead of Kevin King? Personally, I didn't think so. And if you don't think so, and feel that Biegel has value than that trade down was a smart move to make.

I was told the tier marker was McKinley for the Packers.

Takk really scared me... yet another UCLA DL/pass rusher. But those were legit measurables.

Tak's stiffness worried me, but there was a lot to work with, for sure.

Palmy, did Tak interview well?

Interesting. Between the medicals and the combine testing, there was enough for me to be leery of taking him very high. I think purely on the tape, the argument for first round pick was absolutely worth but the medicals and the athletic testing knocked him down a tier or two. Good player, just too much risk for me. I'd rather gamble on Kevin King than Takk, but that might just be me.

AGREED.

Especially with the current state of this team.

I'd have bet my new truck that Ted had Watt, Bowser and Rivers ahead of Takk. Glad I didn't put my money where my mouth was.

Ted never really surprises me, but that does.

Our area guy out there really liked him. I've never sat in on him but have talked to the kid twice and really did like him. Fire runs deep in that young man. Didn't do well on the board but that's nothing I haven't seen a million times before. He's a worker. He would have been fine!

I don't know how anyone can say we won't see a lot of help on the field from these guys until they actually see the field. Wouldn't be crazy to say we could have a #1 CB, Micah Hyde's replacement, a rotational DL and EDGE and our #2 RB from this group. We didn't have a ton of holes to begin with, so we we're never drafting for starters.

I see that you are trying to disagree with me because I said something negative, but you literally just said what I said. For these criticisms, I wonder if you guys are actually arguing that the grade should be an A, because I gave it a B, which is solid.

My only real disagreement with your (solid) analysis is Josh Jones. I think he will see the field a ton from day one in a variety of roles. I think we will see 3 safety packages often with Burnett/Jones acting as a defacto linebacker. Makes our defense infinitely faster and more athletic than using a blake martinez/Jake Ryan type.

Lastly I expect to see Randall in the slot, with King as an outside guy. I could see King as a day one outside CB with the plan to let randall move around the defense to take advantage of his ball skills.

Maybe towards the end of the season, but I think expecting him to grab a starting boundary CB position to start the season is a bit optimistic. He's still rather raw in terms of press technique (although he definitely has the tools for it) and he's rather grabby which means he's going to open himself up to penalties early and often. I wouldn't be surprised if he had a rough rookie season.
